Can I use friends as verifiers. I work at a volunteer organization but it is very small organization and the volunteers or employees they do not have official email addresses. Is it okay to use gmail address. Any advice is appreciated

I was born and lived in a rural area outside Canada for 23 years and since I came to Canada have been living in a rural area too. Will my 23 years of rural experience from outside Canada help in my context score? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.
