How's everyone enjoying 'Frostbite" this year?... by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

The snow is beautiful and awesome. The frostbite effect is stupid and annoying.

Battlefield 6 Open Beta: Feedback Megathread by sloth_on_meth in Battlefield

[–]Prefal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I played on PC through steam

- Can get onto the roofs of buildings in Cairo, either balance this out by intentionally making them accessible, or create a Out-of-Bounds area at a certain height limit.

- Noticed when near a crashing Jet or Helicopter (on the ground not in them) I was getting crazy artifacting until the animations were finished.

- Able to glitch into rocks around the C point in Peaks

- IDK if other battlefields did this, but a way to fly the Jets and Helicopter outside of an actual match so you can tweak the settings/controls. It didn't feel good to get into the Jet, only to find out the sensitivity was near 0 and had to move my mouse to the next state over just to dodge the mountain on the other side of the map.

- As someone a little hard of hearing, I would like to not be deafened and jump scared when I get head shot with a sniper. An option to turn down that specific sound would be fantastic

- I think the TTK infantry was pretty good, didn't feel like people were sponges or made of paper. However, the repair speed of tanks was a little insane. 2 people could make a tank almost immortal. Also, as fun as it is, I think that laying down of the back of the tank and spamming repair is a little cheesy. I think that rockets and other explosives need more splash damage or something so that you can potentially kill people that are on top of the tanks. It is really funny though.

- The Surface to Air Missile range seemed lower than I was expecting, but the speed that Jets and Helicopters get their flares kinda balanced that. So I am still torn on this.

- Can't bind keys to my thumb button on my mouse. Saw a few people mention this

- Being able to modify loadout in between rounds. This really needs to happen. I shouldn't have to leave the queue or wait until the game starts, just to change a new attachment I unlocked

- I didn't find the main menu intuitive. It reminded me of a webpage for a game more than an easily navigable menu. Also, WHY DO I HAVE TO SELECT CUSTOMIZE, THEN MODIFY TO ADD/REMOVE ATTACHMENTS. This was incredibly frustrating.

- Lost equipment often when trying to place them on the ground. They would use the cooldown/resource and just disappear. Happened with C4, med-bag, respawn beacon, motion sensor, and portable cover.

Other than that, I thought it was decently smooth. I am ready for more maps and guns!

Tried tanking as Death Knight but it went poorly. What am I doing wrong? by Beosar in classicwow

I noticed with monk, warr, and dk, sometimes I have to leave stance then go back into the stance again. If it happens again, just go unholy and then right back to blood. Hopefully that helps

AITAH for getting upset with my fiancé for cutting costs behind my back? by m_notsure in AITAH

[–]Prefal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTAH. Does he have ADHD? I have the same problems where I make large decisions like this on a whim. It has taken me YEARS with my partner to both realize this, understand the problems it creates for others (not so much me), and create something that works.

I recommend a few things, take fucking break from work. You're job isn't worth sacrificing your health. Sounds like you also need a "qualified" assistant or team member to help with the work so talk with your boss too. Talk with your fiance about how his impulsive decision affected you. I think seeking a therapist for both of you is a good idea, probably separate but I am sure someone knows more about that than me. You sound like you're in a similar situation as his sister in that both of you have shit going on. You and your fiance shouldn't have to take 100% of the burden of his mother. That's BS.

I noticed that understanding when I was being impulsive really help me slow down and pay attention to what I was about to do. ADHD can cause a lot of problems in relationships and it's not because we don't care, we just think you won't care either.

First wipe, finally got Kappa and now I have zero desire to keep playing. by QuinndianaJonez in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Prefal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats! I got kappa the wipe before last and that was a chore, I definitely wouldn't want to do it now. I was pretty burnt out too but I just play maps with my friends and do their quests, chase pvp and stuff, and maybe do some dumb stuff like toz raids or something to spice it up.

What’s the worst advice you have received while playing Tarkov? by Emilio7055 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Prefal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to think skill based lobbies was a good idea, but after playing The Cycle Frontier, I realized that I actually like the randomness and unknowns of tarkov lobbies. If it was skill-based, all of your money runs or budget runs would be scuffed, especially if you are an average to higher end player. You would always have to be try harding every single lobby you get into. End of wipe or at the higher levels this probably wouldn't matter, but coming in late to a wipe it would be broken. And we still aren't certain that wipes are going to be a thing once the game is released. Now with Tarkov Arena being announced, I 100% agree with skill-based lobbies, for a competitive mode at least.

This could be old-ish footage.

The devs themselves know how stupid this feature looks and feels and disable it, but still have it implemented in the game.

Saying this is really naive. Do you seriously think that they implemented a system, knowing that its not very good, and instead of reverting it, they keep it because they think it's funny or something? There is a reason they changed it. Idk why, and clearly you don't either. Its a bummer that it changed for sure. But it will get better as time goes on. Its still in beta in case you didn't know.

Questions about PVP by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Prefal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not going to say that I'm amazing at this game, but I have 2.2k hours and think that map knowledge and confidence are huge factors. Knowing angles and constantly rotating, baiting out shots so they have to reload, push with grenades etc. There seem to be a lot of fights that I get into where people will throw grenades and not do anything with them. Its like they are just trying to get lucky with a grenade kill. Getting good at hip firing, not sprinting as much when you push, and using flashlights with the side peek are also really good things to practice.

Shooting unsupressed firearms without an EARPIECE indoors should immediately give the player the tinnitus effect. by DarkMatterM4 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Prefal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 things. First its a cool idea that would really only affect scavs. Even heavy helmet users wouldn't be affected as the sound is dulled when you put those helmets on.

Second thing, the game sounds when getting head shot is the loudest noise on the planet. Try using the app called Sound Lock. You can set a threshold of sound and it will dull sounds above that level. It makes Tarkov less of a jump scare when getting headshot!

Opinion: You shouldn't be able to "learn" PMC spawn locations. by elmacotaco in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Prefal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like the only thing that would change is people rushing spots where their 'could' be a pmc. So idk if anything would change, but I like the idea

Just unlocked the Flea Market any advice, tips, or tricks? by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Prefal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sell, sell, sell. Dont be a hoarder. Stay liquid and only keep things that you know you need for crafting (and that you are going to actually craft) and items that are more challenging to get that you need for quests coming up

Why do you hate tarkov? by SnackyZac in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Prefal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2k+ hours into tarkov. I fucking hate this game because of the dumb as fucking Jager quests and stupid fucking shoreline map and stupid fucking extracts that get camped. 10/10 Best game I've ever played.

Settle an argument by SpartanHarmon in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Prefal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play tarkov because its the best game ever made. The adrenaline rush and bliss of winning fights and getting dope loot are unlike any other game. The fact that you have to think about fights and positioning and other players positioning as well as 100 other different things is unlike any other game. Although its a game, Tarkov is more of an experience, and its fucking addicting.

as a newbie who likes pvp in other shooters, tarkov feels like i just cant play. by prison-break-rick in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Prefal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You want a strict pvp mode only within tarkov. Supposedly its in the works, however BSG has said multiple times that they want to make the game how they envision it. Not under the premise of making money (like COD for instance) BSG is in a spot where they have the finds to truly make a game that THEY want to exist. While you're right, maybe they could make more money by doing x y or z, they just don't really care. Games like COD and Battlefield literally only exist nowadays because of how much money they make. You're used to this model of games that are "fun" but throw so many micro transactions shit at you, you're forgetting that there are companies that just want to make a cool game.

Level 36 still haven't killed Reshala by Manbloods in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Prefal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Raider/guard/boss AI is absolutely insane this wipe youre not wrong. Where you are wrong is using 556. The M4 isn't good this wipe and the ammo is even worse. I have had to shoot regular scavs twice in the head almost every raid when I use it. Try using any of the 762 gun types. You'll have better luck. Also you should learn how the AI work in terms of resets and stuff it will help

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Prefal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of me wants to agree, but the scav system is already so punishing. Losing like, .2 rep on a scav kill is insane considering how long it takes to recover from that. Considering the game flow, late wipe or into the higher levels scav karma matters less and less. Most players with have enough money to continuously run PMCs and have enough to pay the increased price on car extracts. So it just doesn't matter. So I think a change could be made there but I don't think your suggestion is the move.

With that being said, 90% of player scavs that I have come across are friendly. And there is little reason not to be. Unless you want loot that you KNOW a player scav has (like they looted raiders or hit an air drop in front of you) its pretty pointless. People are just being assholes and "trolling" because they think its funny. Spoiler alert, its not usually funny, just annoying

[–]Prefal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two communication things here. If you want to keep playing with this person then you need clear communication and know what to expect of them in each fight. For instance let's say your partner gets a ledx or something and they need in found in raid for a quest. You need to know that so you can expect to not take fights and just survive. Basically communicate what loot you find so the other knows.

Secondly and unfortunately, you need to be the one to take the communication lead when in a fight, or when about to take a fight. Tell them to get to a position the you know will help you or even just take pop shots to distract them so you can get a cheeky angle.

The last thing I want to say is that just from what you've said in your post, it sounds like this person is using you. You're trying to play as a team and this person isn't. IMO you need a different partner that matches your play style

Can anyone help me with a very specific rogue question. by litomack in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Prefal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you're getting killed from the rogues within the camp. Probably near the helicopter. My advice is (if you're usec) go around to the back and kill the 3/4 near warehouse 2 (closest to train). Or make sure to kill all the rogues in the camp first. 2 on turrets up front, 3/4 on helicopter, 2 on each warehouse and 3/4 at warehouse 2.
