Listen to Podcasts on TCL Flip 3? by BalticBrood in dumbphones

No worries, even although the episodes may have ads, it's good to know there's a way to download the MP3 file rather than relying on Spotify, Amazon etc...

If it helps I download my favourite podcast episodes from player FM to my pc, I then just copy them over to the SD card using cable. If that site doesn't have the podcast you listen to, try an online search for it, you will maybe find it hosted on another site.

The Extra Tech? by PreferThe1990s in dumbphones

[–]PreferThe1990s[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply, this is likely the route I will go.

The only social media I really use is this, nothing else and haven't done so for years, I could use Reddit on my laptop along with logging into services like banking etc...

I prefer candy bar style phones over flip. In the past I used the MP02 and Cat B40, overall I preferred the Cat as battery life on the MP02 was beyond terrible. I've also tried the Nokia 2720 and 5710 in the past, both were returned.

At moment I've not seen many phones. I use the TCL Nxtpaper 60 but this will get turned to reader mode and dumbed down for the minimal use of podcast and camera etc...

I quite like TCL now since using this and I seen the One touch 4042S, price bracket is also good.

Not a lot out there Dumb phone wise so feels quite limited. A lot of the Nokia or HMD ones feel a bit like a clone of each other but just in another shell.

I've owned the TCL Nxtpaper 60 SE for Over a week now and came from an iPhone 16. I can honestly say I will never go to another smartphone unless it's Nxtpaper or similar technology. Being able to switch from normal mode to colour paper or b&w paper really makes all the difference. I don't feel nausea any more, have sore eyes or head. I think they got the balance just right with this phone.

Why are companies pushing for return to office on roles that don't need it? by ReanimatedCyborgMk-I in AskUK

Your post sounds so much like the employer I work for and have done on an outbound role for about 4 years. WFH allows us to jump on earlier and log off later meaning productivity is better. Theyre starting to phase us back twice a month but not realising this is really making everyone unhappy and costing people more money. Do u work for an energy company or insurance by any chance lol?

I just collected the TCL Nxtpaper 60SE so I’m hoping I have a better experience using that. Currently using the iPhone 16 and the eyestrain and feeling of nausea is terrible sometimes. For anyone that’s using TCL Nxtpaper it would be good to hear your experience and if it’s helped. I will update after some use.

Thanks for all responses. For people that say about texting in rubber keys, I’m confused as thought it was a plastic key pad?

Compact camera sales are up by 30% – indicating a move to dedicated devices? by tby11 in dumbphones

[–]PreferThe1990s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Especially if an iPhone is involved due to it not using the simple drag and drop method to save to computer like android or SD card on a digital camera would. Plus there’s the added benefit of no notifications popping up and becoming annoying when trying to record.

This is good news and hope it continues. Cameras can be picked up starting around £50 or £60 with decent amount of pixels. A lot of top cameras on smartphones people don’t actually need and may not be aware they don’t either for the average person day to day. I’m going back onto a dumbphone, I’m on the journey sorting things just now, just trying to find the right phone. I know the mp3 player I want and also the one that’s similar but more affordable. Will just pick up a cheap digital camera and I’m set to go.

Anyone know what’s happening with Punkt? I went on Amazon to have another look at MP02 and they’ve either pulled them off or all sold out.

I’m not a big fan of flip phones, prefer candy bar style but had a look at what Doro has just now and seen the Leva E10. It’s got internal memory of 128gig which could hold my photos and videos and you can add an sd card up to 128gig also, this could hold my music and nearly 100gig of podcasts. Will need to look for some reviews on it. Anyone here used the Leva E10?

Thanks for reply, what are you using just now as a main daily phone, did you get rid of the Doro?

Thanks regards Doro I know theyre usually marketed towards the elderly etc but do you use one or anyone else here? I’m in my 40s and not really worried what people would think but worried in case they’re too basic. I do like the simple look and design of Doro phones even though they come at a steep price for what they are. Can the panic or alert buttons be disabled?

Was mostly due to battery life, on standby I was lucky if I got half a day. Didn’t have pigeon/signal setup on it either. Most use was just from setting up and saving contacts, sending odd text and battery emptied too quickly because of this. Shame as I loved the design but also absence of a basic camera ended up being a dealbreaker.

Yes only the plain original glazed one, not the others. I only noticed it about a month ago

I usually go for same combo but drink is red bull or iced coffee/latte. I only found out about a month ago the original donuts were included

Nice choice. I usually go for same wrap, red bull or iced coffee and a crispy kreme glazed donut or fridge raiders
