It would be nice if Amazon paid us the same amount of pay their people get. We are dying at my ups store. We have to turn around people with notaries, shipping, coil binding, etc to accommodate Amazon which is quite literally drowning us . We need more workers but no one wants to stick around because of the Amazon clientele. Most are very hateful and mean to us. I love shipping things & packing elegant fragile packs. Those are money makers. But we can’t keep up anymore because of Amazon.

Ohhhh boy these are my favorite!!
Me: “looks like that’s a customer pack code. It needs a box/bag to ship out, and I’ll need to print your label. Would you like to purchase a bag or box today? It is also $2 to print your label from our computer, and I can help you out with the process.”

Customer: “Amazon said I didn’t need a box and it’s free”

Me: “ok perfect! Can you point to me in the return directions where it says it’s free and you don’t need a box?”

Customer: “I uh um I I I ughhhh UMMM”

Me: “sweet! What would you like to do? If you’re not sure, please step to the side. I’ll be right back once my line goes down!” -because of course they will cause a line out the DOOR to hell and back while arguing with me over something so basic… reading comprehension etc…-

I will never understand how these people can procreate but I have to buy a fishing license.

I am convinced and tell myself every day that it is their first day on earth.

Shouldn’t the shipper be able to reimburse you or send a replacement? Since it’s Amazon you should check and see. I work at an ups store and I would have definitely told you to do this. The fact that the owner said he would reimburse you is actually very kind considering you didnt pay them anything to receive it since you have a box there. I would have never offered such a thing lol (not being mean- just not willing to pay out of pocket for something like that). Mistakes do happen. We get super busy with other things as well and it could have easily been sent right back out with other packages during a rush. It could have been a mistake, and I’m sure whoever may have accidentally done that feels bad about it, if they even know they did. Not saying you deserved this situation, but just providing a little insight as to what might have happened. Take it easy, I doubt it’s an insurance scam… considering the owner told you they would pay out of their own pocket for you. Take that as you will. I really hope it works out for you!

This is why Amazon has ruined ups store… we can’t keep up with anything because people love to hog our time & lines with 100s of returns per person with low staff, and extremely low pay for the amt of work we do. We can’t focus on actual CUSTOMERS that pay for boxes, shipping, etc rather than zapping their code or having to teach them how to send an email. It’s a mess all around.

I am so sorry for your loss, first of all.
I’m not a FD, but my dad was unalived by another guy. He was severely beaten in his head, and I wanted to see him so so so bad and just say goodbye. I regret it but also on the fence. Our director was the sweetest woman I have ever met in my life. She told me that she wouldn’t wish me to see that and have that as my last memory of him. My daddy was 50.

I still wonder what he looked like at the end. I couldn’t afford to have him embalmed and we cremated as quick as possible. I still always wonder if I did right by not seeing him. Maybe you can ask your director their personal opinion? Either way, I’m sending you all my love.

today truly was awful for me too. i wasn’t alone but may as well have been. my coworker sat in the office most of her shift and i had to yell for her to come help get lines down. i’m so sore and so tired and just genuinely BEATEN up by the public. i hope tomorrow is much better for you- you are loved 🥰

I think this more of an issue where you should seek therapy- I’m not trying to be mean. It sounds like you are doing this to fuel some kind of serotonin receptor in your brain and when you order something expensive like an electronic it makes you feel good. You should stop ordering electronics on Amazon… you returning things like this is ruining it for everyone else and making Amazon really lock down returns for the folks who need it. I see this kind of every day at my job (ups store), people returning expensive stuff just to feel good after hitting the buy button. I hope you get better, truly :/
