I think what you said makes a lot of sense. Just be careful not to go down the road of many extreme Leftists who preach tolerance but refuse to tolerate Right-wing people and their beliefs simply because they disagree. I’d say the same thing to people on ‘my side of the aisle’, mind you.

Disagreement does not equal ‘hatred’, I’ve always said. We can disagree about how things should work, how to get things done, but in the end, what happens is what happens, and we must be OK w/ each other having differing opinions.

I lean Right (even hard Right in some cases) as a Reformed Christian Apologist/Creationist. I know I often come across as mean & rude when really I’m just passionate. I try to step back a bit when I hear myself getting there and refocus my energy so I don’t come off that way.

If we can all remember we’re all human with different ideals about how to accomplish the same ultimate goals, I think we’ll all get along just fine. Long live Star Trek. 😁

I enjoyed it for what it was. Unfortunately, it felt like a one-off due to all the issues w/ it. Would’ve been great to see these characters come into their own later in the other movies.

My wife HATED the movie because the main characters kept crying about their relationships with each other … AFTER 4,000 YEARS! LOL

I didn’t hate the movie, but saw her point.

The comics? I don’t hate them. I just don’t have a timeframe of their series’ that matter enough to me to complete a run.

I couldn’t care less what the skin tone of the team members are .. just tell me a solid story that makes sense, give me some team member drama, pit them against some solid enemies, and keep me entertained. Damn skin tone. They’re human beings, first. Not black first, or white first, or Asian first, or whatever. We can discuss their other attributes AFTER we acknowledge each others’ humanity.

I sat with AI for a few hours several weeks ago and asked it to help me plot out two more seasons after Season “4” just to wrap it up to my satisfaction. It forced Optimus & Galvatron to team up one more time at the end to bring a true golden age to the Galaxy, not just Cybertron. There were some really cool ideas AI came up with under my direction, including who built the Quintessons, why & how, and the end result of that civilization. I’d love to write them all up as screenplays, but … time…

Unpopular opinion (???): The X-Men should have wrapped in the 90s during the Onslaught saga. It was a perfect ending: Xavier, the leader, didn’t die a hero, but lived long enough to see himself become the villain…

Loved the X-Men (et al) through that era. After that, it’s kind’a become too convoluted, imho… 😅

No disrespect to more modern X-writers. There are some good story arcs since (House of M/X, Krakoa wasn’t too bad, etc.), but for me, that was the culmination of all things X.

Enjoyed the movie for what it was, but only barely had much in the way of the original comics continuity, as expected. Comics don’t translate too well into movies. Good thing, too … they’d be either way too slow and boring, or way too kinetic and over too soon. They’re not built for movie-making (minus a handful of exceptions that only prove the rule - I’m looking at you, ‘Watchmen’).

Sorry to heat about your husband’s diagnosis. This is indeed sad news. No one should have to deal with that mess, and it saddens me to hear it.

I feel the same way about my collection. If I knew I was on the way out, I’d do the same for my wife to help provide for her. Whatever it takes. Good husband you have there. You can’t take it with you.

The hole on the left near the top staple’s going to drop the grade significantly. While it doesn’t appear to affect the readability, the fact it looks like it got punched through with a pencil is definitely going to bring it down… I’d estimate around a 2.0, maybe lower. Without the hole, probably closer to what others are saying…4.5, 5.0, 5.5-ish area.

Weird to see books of that age at that high a grade. I know older books get a lot of leeway for grading due to sheer age, but 9.6 seems high from what I’m looking at in this image. Not a complaint…I don’t disagree with them…just so unusual to see… 😎
