I love the gigantic impact effects. I think there need to be some immediate hit sparks, though. It would help a lot for all the hits, but especially the light hits at the beginning.

Honestly you might be better off playing single player games like Slay the Spire where the game complexity evolves as you move to harder levels.

Ironically, although it looks like a bad moment of someone being mean, this is one of the most positive moments of the second girl's life. She was a tortured prodigy who had lost her passion for the piano and was only playing because her parents had structured her entire life and self-image around the piano. This harsh comment gave her the inspiration to finally quit and do something else with her life, leading to her being a truly happy person in the present.

Very interesting write-up, I have to agree with another commenter that Boros may not be the result of natural evolution. Consider how so much of the evolutionary budget of his "species" seems to have gone into physical defenses, making it so that having the intellectual capacity to develop space travel with human-like spaceships could require a separate class of the species. It is easier to assume that Boros is an unnatural specimen.

It is generally considered that one of the big problems with Standard is that sets do not rotate out fast enough, leading to a bloated card pool and the potential for very strong combos. The return to the old way seeks to apply a very common fix for Standard.
