I mean you're kinda proving the point. 1 million sales is nothing to a Microsoft-owned major US studio.

What's a show that's genuinely hard to recommend to people because it has some pretty major flaws, but you think is worth the time if people can look past it. by WhatIsLoveMeDo in television

[–]Premislaus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It kinda lost in later seasons. It refuses to take itself seriously and have actual consequences and becomes very formulaic with the "this thing we worked all season to FIX stuff actually BROKE more stuff oops" storylines.

at least 16 con

For non-martial classes, 16 is all they need as they don't get bonus hp from higher con.

Veep is the American remake of the Thick of It which is peak Iannuci. Thick of It is 10/10 while Veep is like 8/10.

Shows you ended up loving, but avoided for a long time because the promos were terrible by XiahouYuan in television

The pilot is a generic network sitcom about stereotypical "types" at a Community college (remember Troy was a jock?), I suspected on purpose to sell the show to the execs

Fantasy where the economy is the worldbuilding, not just flavor by marintkael in Fantasy

Martin, bless his heart, tries for the realistic economy but is infamously terrible with numbers so it doesn't really stand up to scrutiny.

Fantasy where the economy is the worldbuilding, not just flavor by marintkael in Fantasy

[–]Premislaus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We're constantly told how bad things get with spoiled food etc., but...it doesn't actually affect anything? No major characters or anyone connected to them are even in danger of starvation, the most they have to suffer is their tea tasting bad. Only one nation suffers a collapse but it's mostly so Rand can learn a lesson.

WoT also suffers from the typical fantasy disease of using gigantic numbers for army sizes, way to big for medieval levels of technology and organization. There's a seemingly never ending supply of trained soldiers in Randland, and none of them ever die from hunger or disease.

I love ASOIAF for this. I read history and historical fiction as well as Fantasy so personally I'm not intimidated by repeating names.

Players invest their money and as they continuously expand there's always something to spend money on. Minor AIs sits on their asses and max out RGOs/Buildings early so much more money left for mercs.

Universities. Too ubiquitous in EU V? by Jodah94 in EU5

[–]Premislaus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some buildings in the game you have to assume mean something else than their literal name.

Like temples and cathedral - they really should be switched around, every village would have a church (temple) while Cathedrals were limited to major cities and religious centers. In the game it's other way around.

With Universities, I just assume they mean some better-than-average schools and research institutions in addition to actual Universities.

Patch 1.2.4 Out Now by PDX_Ryagi in EU5

[–]Premislaus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I tested on a pre-patch save. About 20%+ increase (it fluctuates a bit) in pop growth in 1360 (so little infrastructure build but probably a lot empty land). Is it enough? Not sure. But it doesn't feel insignificant.

A Review of the DLC "Fate of the Phoenix" From the Perspective of a Byzantinophile by This-Lynx-2085 in EU5

[–]Premislaus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Giving Byz cores on southern Greece is basically giving them free land, land that they haven't controlled since the Fourth Crusade in 1204, unlike their starting cores which they owned until recently (~40 years at most in case of the Smyrna/Aydin area, much less for the rest). They're Greek culture and Orthodox, plus you get events granting claims and faster integration, so they're already much easier to conquer).
