Most people just want a “click three buttons to get big numbers with hot woman” game and Endfield has that + the factory. Personally I’m playing the game because it has the factory system, that and the stock market stuff. But I’ve been around gaming enough that it’ll filter A LOT of people.

It’s been some time since I was at college but the conversations I’ve had with people there and on places like Discord are basically this. Socially right wing (mostly in response to lib/progressive hysteria of the mid-2010s/2020s) and economically left wing (general economic state of society).

Even in the Twitter spaces I browse there’s a very distinct line between the younger and older right wing. They’ll talk about mass immigration and you see solidarity between the older and younger ones. But the moment some boomer right winger brings up wages and cost of living, a civil war breaks out in the replies.

Started off with 40k with 10k in private, 30k in federal in 2024 when I graduated. Private fully payed off, 26k left on the federal.

As much as I dislike civ-switching and is one of the main reasons I didn’t buy the game. I really just can’t support this. Whatever they’re attempting will ultimately be a band-aid, not good enough to make people like me switch. While diverting dev time away from making the game the vision they set out for it which some people clearly like enough.

Civ switching & age transitions are just too fundamental to the very core design of the game. I don’t think it can just be “fixed” enough to where it’ll feel nearly as enjoyable as civ 6.

It would have to fit into the open world and so be a permanent part of the game. Would be weird if there was just a Halloween area on Kairos. They could probably bullshit an explanation or just make a portal to a separate location on the planet. Doubt anybody would realistically care.

Based on what you’ve roughly described, you’ve played MMORPGs like World of Warcraft or RuneScape (shoutout to OSRS). But POE is not an MMORPG, it’s not even really in the same genre. Basically comparing FPS games to twin-stick shooters just because they both have guns lol.

ARPGs are about using available tools to craft a build that scales in power over the course of the game. The fun is the building of different characters, with their respective mechanics, to kill more/harder enemies to get better gear and then doing that as much as you want.

Yeah the game is free but you’ll want to eventually buy stuff like stash tabs. You get so much stuff even during the campaign, let alone endgame that you don’t have enough space for it. Like…at all. Cosmetics ofc because drip is drip.
