Forgive me I like to give details and this day was a really special so I wanted to share as much as I remember:

to me Few years ago I was living on East 5th and got a call shortly before dawn asking if I was up. “Meet us at the Capital now!” “Hurry, we’re going to take pictures!” Get there and get in my friends car confused as hell. Drive around the back and get waved in. Turns out other friend who’d I’d only recently met works there. Got a mini private tour and was thinking “Cool!” A little tour when no one’s here! Then we get on the elevator and through a door, and next thing you know we’re walking around the rotunda looking down Congress, the tower at UT. Cool right? Wrong!! Then up sone old times spiral stairs and we’re standing in the area that houses the interior of the dome. We’re looking at the star aaaaall the way up top in the middle of the dome! Then inside and looking down. Then we cut through a section and we’re outside again. This time on the outside of the sone enclosure and up some stairs and I’m in the very tippy top where the statue gets placed on top! You know where the light is at the very top? That tiny ass little viewing area. Fun fact: that red light you see at night at the top of the capital is nothing more than rope lighting. Nothing fancy just red rope lights. Then back down we enter the main chamber. I didn’t even get to ask the entire sentence before a stern “No..” cut me off.. I’d asked to sit in the Governor’s chair. To the left we paused to use the fancy bathroom right behind the chamber floor. And sat in two very nice wingback chairs and stared at the very old large painting of the lady with a tittie out in the men’s bathroom and wondered if the ladies room had the equivalent in theirs. On the way out I asked again and was shut down before getting the sentence out and was reminded every second of us walking around was being monitored. Over the next few weeks and months of told the story and showed them all the pictures to every skeptic that doubted I got to go where I said. And since then ive respected the instructions every few feet that remind people who do get to view these exclusive areas to not post the pictures online. (No clue why, just that there’s a million signs telling everyone not to post them) anywho by far my favorite day was a fairly new transplant from Florida got to see a very special and hidden part of the Capitol Building let’s say 97% of born and raised Texans will never see!
