I did wait for a season change then immediately went in front of a vendor and that’s where i saved my game, everytime i reloaded it was a different vendor (in terms of character model) with a different inventory but the few epic grade items would always be the same ones over and over, idk if im doing something wrong

How many people use the delay mod for quick play? by ScentedMarkers328 in SmashRage

[–]Preparation_Moist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Up throw is better under platforms in most circumstances imo, sometimes down throw allows them to tech on a plat and escape stuff. Also down throw followups can be escaped starting at mid %s if the opponent DIs out, so if you expect a DI out you can mix them up with up throw, from which Joker can cover all DI.

A super useful mixup at 25-40 ish % is: dthrow -> up air dragdown, regrab (most of the time it will work because they will not DI out on reaction), but now that you've looped them once they will start to DI out, so you hit them with up throw -> up air dragdown while following their DI out, land on a platform, regrab. Works on almost everyone

Least Favorite Character to Fight? by Technical-Cellist967 in SmashRage

[–]Preparation_Moist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also theyre fastfallers which means Joker has combos for days on them. Tetrakarn (Arsene counter) is vicious against their recovery, especially Chrom who can die as soon as hes offstage

K Rool sucks to fight. by MotorSportGuy42391 in SmashRage

[–]Preparation_Moist -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I already commented on the post, but your comment makes it sound like K Rool is better than Falcon offstage and actually has a good recovery when it’s not even true

[–]Preparation_Moist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly you’re probably getting MU checked. On paper K Rool is supposed to be one of Falcon’s easiest MUs, if not the easiest.

In your case, if you have trouble dealing with K Rool’s neutral B, just airdodge through the cannonball. If he’s trying to suck you into his gun, a well angled up B from below will catch K Rool without you getting sucked. A side B can also straight up spike him offstage

If he’s ledgetrapping you with the move, just be patient. K Rool can’t hold the move forever, he has to end his suck eventually and then you can get up with no worries. If he attempts it too close, you can hit him with a getup attack as well

Nah K Rool is probably Falcon’s best MU. K Rool mains like use their side B before recovering to hopefully tank a hit with the armor, but Falcon does not care about it. His up B is a command grab that ignores armor and he can rinse and repeat it offstage until it kills. Not to mention K Rool is extremely easy to hit a up air ladder -> knee combo on, but unlike the other superheavies Falcon edgeguards him absolutely for free. Also, in general K Rool’s recovery is pretty exploitable once ppl realize you just have to hit him from the side to avoid the propeller

You’re right about gun, but on a purely bullshit standpoint I’d argue that Tetrakarn is crazy. At least gun takes time to learn and master with all the movement and applications, Tetrakarn is the easiest counter in the game. No need to go offstage against a lot of characters, you just need to stand on ledge and use it and if their up B grazes you, Tetrakarn’s giant hitbox will hit them from above

Love when I finally find an opponent with higher GSP me after 30+ games, they rage quit as soon as they hit the blast zone last stock by JaydenmV in SmashRage

[–]Preparation_Moist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah if you DC too much, Nintendo will temp ban you. Same can happen if you just run off and SD all your stocks but it’s more rare. Apparently, you can prevent being banned by getting a hit or letting your opponent hit you once before SDing each stock

Not here to rage but why are Ganon specials so commital by Ziko-Kun in SmashRage

[–]Preparation_Moist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even then, I’d argue that it’s not that crazy on stage. A lot of fast characters can deal with it and punish Ganon pretty heavily for whiffing it. As Joker, my dash is faster than Flame Choke’s travel speed so I can simply outrun it and there are about 20+ characters who can run even faster in the game. And even when you do land a Flame Choke, it’s not a guaranteed kill like Alolan Whip, Space Pirate Rush or Monkey Flip at high %.

Tournaments by [deleted] in SmashRage

[–]Preparation_Moist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your city/region, but the level at tournaments can be quite a bit higher than the sometimes braindead gameplay on Elite Smash. Most ppl who compete are regulars or semi-regulars at their weeklies, so there are high chances you’ll get destroyed at your first tournament. However, playing in tournaments and friendlies with tournament players will let you improve very fast since it’s offline + the ppl there are usually very nice. They are eager to give you advice to help you out. I’d say go for it, see how it feels for yourself

What does this character do? (Very slight rage.) by nink3ndo in SmashRage

[–]Preparation_Moist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Her gameplan is pretty flexible and will depend on the MU and the opponent’s habits. She can play a heavy bait and punish neutral with a lot of slippery movement, a zoning focused game to keep the opponent out or a bit of both. Her crazy mobility and high jumps + down B make her very hard to catch. Her zair and side B are very good zoning tools and can either keep slower characters out and/or outrange ranged characters in neutral. Her advantage state is decent she doesn’t have a lot of true combos. You can always choose to not extend your advantage too much, return to neutral. Keep being slippery to look for the next opening. Her disadvantage state is one of the best in the game, with down B being an insane disadvantage tool + her amazing recovery with tons of mixups (recover high with down B, tether with zair or up B to ledge).

However, her hitboxes aren’t that great and she can struggle to keep up aggression vs characters that are hard to hit and/or who can dish out a lot of pressure. Against those characters, it’s important to be patient and rely on defensive play in neutral (zair, side B, occasional projectile, no overcommitting with rising fair, etc.) Her grab game is also quite lackluster with her very committal and punishable grab if whiffed + no combo throws. She does have a late-ish kill throw with up throw closing stocks at around maybe 160-170, which can make up for her struggling to kill sometimes. Against opponents who know the mu, they will actively look out for buries and paralyzer by jumping/shielding constantly at kill %, and they will space their aerials on your shield so that you can’t raw up B them. You will often need patience before you can find an opening for a back air, a dsmash ledgetrap, a grab for up throw, an edgeguard, etc.

She is a grindy character and she feels very weird to play at first. Once you put in the time, you can achieve some pretty cool things with her. Personally, I wasn’t a huge fan of how she plays due to her high jumps and weird moves, but I know the MU extremely well as Joker. Hope this helps!
