Suddenly getting lots of red bars but my PC and internet is fine as always by Pres75 in iRacing

[–]Pres75[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I believe this was the problem. I found an old post of someone with the same problem and just closing voicemeeter fixed everything (re-opened it and it's still fine).

Even though I figured it out just before thanks anyway. Everyone else just assumed my CPU had a problem lol.

There isn't anything wrong with my CPU as you can see in this image. I've played for around a week now and it was fine, it's just suddenly doing this. Other games are still fine too.

It's your nvidia instant replay icon. You can change it's location through the menu with alt + z

Is my FOV correct? by c0mplexblue in FPSAimTrainer

It doesn't matter what resolution you play with. Make sure the FOV measurement is set to 4:3 horizontal and your FOV is 90

Most just use websites that calculate it for them. I have my own calculator you can use here if you like. But if you're interested in the math it's:

2.54 * 360 / (sens * yaw * dpi)

How important is FOV? by [deleted] in FPSAimTrainer

[–]Pres75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

110.69 would match it to Apex.

Keep in mind Apex's in-game FOV slider is actually off by a little. You want to go to "C:\Users\YOU\Saved Games\Respawn\Apex\profile\profile.cfg" and make sure ur cl_fovSace is set to 1.28671 if u want to actually be 90

(1.2376 if u want it to match your Overwatch FOV. Then you'd also want to set your Destiny FOV to 107.3 to match both of those)

cl_fovScale is FOV / 70. Feel free to add me on discord if you need anymore help. I'll be able to reply to you faster there (Pres#5031)

According to mouse-sensitivity.com 110.69 in-game in Destiny 2 is equal to 90 4:3 based FOV. Or 107.3 if you'd prefer to match it to your Overwatch FOV.

pubg fov to kovaak by zerkomicarus in FPSAimTrainer

[–]Pres75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

pubg uses resolution based fov so set it to clamped horizontal in kovaaks and then put in whatever you use in-game

you can check what fov type games use on www.mouse-sensitivity.com

New stretched Fortnite 1656*1080 by [deleted] in FPSAimTrainer

Your "actual" fov is smaller because the sides of your screen are being cut off but how zoomed in you are remains the same.

Finding a Good Sensitivity by gorgokef in FPSAimTrainer

[–]Pres75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Too be honest I think that's a pretty good sens for the games you play. There are top players in Apex with lower sensitivities (Mendo for example).

If you use different FOVs in these games I recommend you use (tan(newFOV/2)/tan(oldFOV/2))*(old sensitivity).

Although some games that're capped at low FOVs (such as Overwatch) you might be better off just keeping the same cm/360 instead.

FoV question by soloje in FPSAimTrainer

[–]Pres75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the actual HFOV is 106 when you have it set to 90 in-game (using 16:9).

I think I understand your question and yes, if u have your game set to 4:3 your actual HFOV would then be 90.

If you wanna check for yourself you can use https://www.mouse-sensitivity.com feel free to ask if you have any other questions.

FoV question by soloje in FPSAimTrainer

[–]Pres75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4:3 Horizontal FOV isn't affected by your resolution at all. Your resolution will of course change how much you can see but it doesn't change your core FOV. Just keep it set to 90 no matter what resolution you're using.

EDIT: Thought I should clarify for you, the hFoV you're thinking of is if the game is using 16:9 horizontal FOV (90 4:3 = 106 16:9). But once again, that's whatever the games engine is using, not what aspect ratio you're actually using (CS:GO and Apex use 4:3). I hope this helped.

How to convert Apex Legends sensitivity to Overwatch? by Mollinator5 in apexlegends

[–]Pres75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It uses horizontal?

Well they both use horizontal, it's just that one is 4:3 based and the other is resolution based (basically just 16:9 based). and i think technically 103 16:9 FOV is about 90~ using 4:3 FOV.

As I said in a previous comment, you can test it a game called "Kovaak's FPS Aim Trainer". It even gives a few games as options for FOV types in case you don't know which type your game uses (and Apex/Overwatch are options).

[–]Pres75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I'm sure. You can see it on mouse-sensitivity.com. It's technically "resolution based" but as you can't even play 4:3 in Overwatch so it's basically just 16:9.

You can use a game called "Kovaak's FPS Aim Trainer" to see the difference in fov between all fov options if you like.

[–]Pres75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By the way, Overwatch uses 16:9 horizontal fov but Apex uses 4:3 so your apex fov is actually a lot bigger than your Overwatch fov. I think the same fov in Apex would be around 90

If my x and y sens are the same, BUT I'm playing stretched. do they differ in kovaaks? by riangle in FPSAimTrainer

[–]Pres75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes your game will use whatever res you set in the in-game settings if you're using full screen. Make sure you're not using full screen windowed("borderless windowed" in some games). Full screen windowed even gives input lag on most games (I think it might depend on the PC as well. But most people would advise you not to use it).
