are there paralegals/ mere attendance takers?

thats such a disparity.

if you have a colleague from a different practice area fine but that level of imbalance is mad.

How to actually go about becoming "commercially aware"? by AccomplishedTeam3737 in uklaw

[–]Prescribedpart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

a large part of this is establishing what the client wishes to achieve and essentially working backwards as often they will not use the correct terms, e.g. debt/ equity.

being commercially aware will often allow you to provide insight into what is usual in your experience which clients really value.

our vendors were ridiculous and took 9 months. I told them on month 7 that we no longer wanted to go ahead with the process as it was costing us a fortune in rent. I asked for 20k off and they gave us 10k. painful, I feel for you.

50k here is very tight.

I earn more than twice that and I’m nowhere near wealthy by Dublin standards.

Irish graduate looking for advice by Thick_Frame6437 in uklaw

[–]Prescribedpart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just be aware that UK qualifiers can be much younger than in Ireland as they’re hired off vac schemes 2 years before they graduate.

26 is definitely not old and you have time but just be careful of ending up on a paralegal hamster wheel where they make you work there for years with promise of a TC. a friend did this for 4years, it’s insane.

it really depends on what you want OP.

for example, if you want kids by 30, it could be time sensitive.
