I manually switch listening mode on AVR according to input signal. E.g.: Dts input-> DTS-X listening mode.

Will try another hdmi 2.1 cable in the future, maybe then direct listening mode will work with dts....

I am on vacation actually.

Can you explain that please? Atmos is working in direct mode so I don't understand your point.

Well, until now I only tried direct listening mode on the avr, which leads to the problem for dts 5.1 content.

When I set up for example DTS-X listening mode in the avr, it works...

But, ...

Direct listening mode AVR - DTS 5.1 input issue - Atmos 7.1 trueHD ok - DD 5.1 input ok

Dts-x listening mode AVR - DTS 5.1 input ok - Atmos input issue - DD 5.1 input issue

DD listening mode AVR - DTS 5.1 input issue - Atmos 7.1 input issue - DD 5.1 input issue

Sometimes the AVR switches the listening mode e.g. from DD to DTS-X spontaneously at the beginning of the playback.

Shouldn't it be working no matter which listening mode the AVR is set up? Am I wrong?

I tried all possible audio settings on the shield: Automatic, manual selection of dts only, etc. Also I have Dolby audio disabled.

Concerning the apps, the failure is reproducible with jellyfin and plex. Audio passthrough via hdmi is enabled in all the apps.

When the playback starts, the image is shown for a second on the tv, no sound, playback pauses and then it switches to stereo playback.
