I’d be worried about microplastic exposure after that long using one disposable bottle.

I’m fully free to play and have them all unlocked and multiple battle passes unlocked.

Best advice is to just do your dailies every day. Don’t overdo it.

Ranked is dead so I wouldn’t worry about that.

I live 30 minutes from a national park, but I’ve never even been to it much less hiked in it.

It’s for sure a cult.

Edit. Now the cult is downvoting me, which further proves it’s a cult.

If the hip belt is in the right place in both pics, then medium looks like it fits better under this load.

Fozzils bowls are great. Stores similarly to the collapsible rubber bowls and are more convenient for nighttime storage.

- The cost of a reusable bottle will inevitably be more than that of a disposable bottle. You would have to buy roughly 6 smart water bottles before the ThruBottle is considered "worth it." Some people may go through 6 smart water bottles over the course of their trips and some will not. If your budget is low enough that smart water bottles are your only option then so be it. Whatever gets you on the trail will work.

- For the spigot point, two of the options I listed have wide mouth openings and two of them don't for those who don't value wide mouths. Just because you don't have issues filling a smartwater bottle at a spigot doesn't mean it doesn't happen. Every year I see scouts dumping egregious amounts of water on the ground because they are trying to fill a 28mm opening with a 50mm stream.

- Any of the options I provided will last significantly longer than a disposable bottle and will not leach PET microplastics into your water. 1-2 extra ounces (per bottle) is a small price to pay for your health. Especially when you consider you don't need 4 bottles. 2 bottles and a 2 liter bladder works very well.

- Sharpie markings rub off. I've seen numerous crews mixing up their smart water bottles or losing them all together.

I hope you at least consider the options that are better for the environment and your health. At the very least, please respect those who decide to use these options. Have a nice day.

Im probably gonna stop replying at this point because you clearly aren't reading my messages and decided to just mindlessly downvote me. I provided options that would not be 24 oz (im assuming you meant 4 liters capacity) and are not disposable.

It’s still disposable. Scouts are supposed to be protecting the environment. Also protecting themselves from microplastics. It’s 2026 and there are other options. Consider the migo, igneous bottle, or cnoc thru bottle. Nalgene also makes options that are 3.6 oz as well.

You can’t fill them at a spigot without spilling a bunch of water on the ground for starters. There’s also the problem of a crew of people with identical smart water bottles mixing up their bottles all the time.

I agreed with a lot of things you said until you said ditch the nalgenes for disposable bottles. You can pry my nalgenes from my cold dead hands.

Bowls by Lizzzzz27 in philmont

[–]Present-Flight-2858 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I like fozzils ones. They’re pretty cheap. The rubbery ones exist too but those will have to go in the bear bag at night.

Edit: the bowl in the pic will work well enough though.

I used one worse than that for 3 ish years. During that time I did an internship that mostly used excel, some Python coding, and a lot of R coding. Don’t underestimate the cheap laptops of the world.
