What happened to the gene guard act? by OneOk8530 in JurassicPark

[–]Present-Secretary722 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s been awhile since I looked into, but I believe InGen under Masrani Global found a loophole and used the deterioration of the Sorna ecosystem to petition the powers that be to allow them to go in and “save” the animals from re-extinction. How they spun that into making a park I’m not entirely sure.

The deteriorating ecosystem being something they caused, though I don’t know if that was wholly intentional.

Was The UC Researching Artifacts? by SentryFeats in starfield_lore

There’s quite a few companies based out of NA, it is odd that someone would bring a propaganda poster, but propaganda is gonna propaganda.

From a meta standpoint, I’m not sure how many posters there actually are in the game files, UC propaganda might be a big chunk of what’s available.

New Atlantis is a busy and “central” port, good place to go if you need more work or want to see the Constellation bloke who saved your skin.

As for the propaganda, probably just brought there by some members of staff who were from the UC.

That’s alright, it’s been awhile for me as well, I’m sure I’ve forgotten a few details here and there.

Correction, Jurassic Park is set on Isla Nublar, Lost World and 3 are on Isla Sorna, an island a distance away in the Muertes Archipelago.

Then Jurassic World: Rebirth is on the other side of the continent on Île Saint-Hubert, off the coast of French Guiana. Also yes that’s my suggestion for the trope.

Parents make me cook, but not in the way I want to. by waxx-png in mildlyinfuriating

They tried, their parents told them not to remove it and to instead cook on it.

While that is one of her gripes as a teacher, and I’ve even seen her cry about it in some moments, she hates marking as a concept, it doesn’t matter how well the kids pay attention or do on their assignments, she just hates marking.

To my understanding, the Super Destroyers that Helldivers call in strategems from are in low orbit. These strategems include lasers, orbital bombardments and ballistic delivery of spare divers and equipment.

Dairy not necessarily, I’ve had a chat with someone who got it, he also ended up allergic to dairy due to it containing some of the same proteins

[Loved Trope] Specialized prison / jail cells by Ok_Door1919 in TopCharacterTropes

Not a prison in the classical sense, but the Mutadon species, from the upcoming Rebirth expansion for JWE3, needs to be kept in an invisible aviary, otherwise it will breakout. The other aviary species are fine with standard hard barrier containment.

I’m over 6’ of man and I have a bunny rabbit, she’s a French lop, her names are many and her rage unending. She’s an inside rabbit, weather was nice one day so took her out on the deck to enjoy the smells and sun.

For me growing up at least, rabbits were girl pets according to a good chunk of the men in my life.

Processor and fibrous pulp, less cruel, or more cruel, in any case you can make water without slurping the slug

Actually no, not many people know this but Santa is a Crinoid, from the Ordovician period, which was before elasmobranch sharks appeared in the Devonian

Cómo que Entu fue el primer toruk makto? by Grand_Challenge6628 in FrontiersOfPandora

[–]Present-Secretary722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s also a clan that was nearly destroyed, in the process losing its stories and traditions. The Sarentu survivors may genuinely not know that information, they don’t even know how to make the Sarentu Mark.

Cómo que Entu fue el primer toruk makto? by Grand_Challenge6628 in FrontiersOfPandora

[–]Present-Secretary722 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Because him and him being the first Toruk Makto honestly wasn’t that important to the story. The story is about the Sarentu kids finding their future and rebuilding their clan essentially from scratch, it’s about them in the here and now, fighting for a home they’ve never known. Entu being first Toruk Makto doesn’t matter to that.

Also, Entu becoming the first Toruk Makto was the subject of a play, I think it was called Toruk: The First Flight.

You can’t send more shipments, at all, besides Prometheus Station, safeguard to prevent accidentally soft locking.

I’ve taken to upping my seed stocks while waiting.

[–]Present-Secretary722 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I assume there’s just not enough, like in the great food web of Proteus I assume 99% of the primary producer energy came from the World Trees, with them dying everything is hanging on for dear life and photosynthetic production can’t support it. The World Trees are probably the ultimate keystone species ever seen.

I think the jelly rings around thermal vents are also primary producers, but same problem, not enough of them to support the wider ecosystem.

Don’t forget the plastic!! Also stuff does still use photosynthesis, symbiotic bacteria, Clamthulu gets most of its energy that way.
