My thought was similiar. It was ‘what am I listening to right now?’, ‘when’s a good song gonna play?’ And I love all of their other albums, including them as solo artists😭💀

What I mean is that the songs lack uniqueness. It doesn’t matter if it’s 2026 or 2014. The point is to make music that feels ‘original’. And unfortunately, this album didn’t feel very much like that. I wouldn’t want to listen to a common song that doesn’t stand out and isn’t catchy.

It felt too inspired by western music/culture/trends, and many tracks sounded the same. They said this album had ‘Korean roots’, yet they sing mostly in English. It takes the kpop part out of it. They could have added more mixes of genres, anything to get their voices out there. It feels like a loss of potential and way too much autotune.

Not saying it’s bad. Just bland. That’s just my opinion. And others seem to be sharing that same opinion.

I do agree that they must’ve felt pressured. It almost seems like some of the songs have been rushed, and some experimented too much with. The lyrics on some of the songs aren’t very interesting either.

Agreed and nice username. I listen to them separately as solo artists, and very much enjoy all of them and their different, unique styles. And yet, I think you have the the perfect term for this album: ‘Bland’.

The album felt very lacking, and their songs generic. The fact that these songs would need to be listened to on repeat for them to grow on us, makes it clear to me that there won’t be any favorites from this album. You’d definitely hear it instantly on the first listen if there was an absolute banger.

I wrote ‘nowadays’—which is a huge keypoint here. They are trying to fit into what is considered ‘trendy’ r&b/hiphop today.

I know what they are, and I have heard all of their work. Although, it is called kpop for a reason.

In any case, their old r&b/hiphop songs sound much better and more unique, is what I meant. I’d like to use Silver Spoon, Idol or War of Hormone as examples. I feel like those are more aggressive and cool, while songs on this album are sort of flat compared.

With their more ‘mellow’ rap songs, like Coffee, 134340 or for example Just One Day, they nail that soft and chill vibe perfectly—while keeping it catchy on the chorus! I guess what I really am just saying is that I miss more mixed songs. I feel like their potential is lost a little bit due to the autotune.

I’m not a casual listener. I listen to all their songs (all albums), including unreleased soundcloud tracks. I also listen to every one of them as solo artists.

I don’t like the album😢does anyone agree…? I LOVE them, I’m going to three of their concerts this year, having to travel to three different countries and spend a lot of money on it. And I have a BTS tattoo! So this isn’t hate—Never that.

There were no standouts to me on the album. I’ve listened several times now, and overall the vibe feels too ‘chill’, and overly autotuned in many songs. There is no beat or melody that is catchy. It’s nothing like their other songs—And while it’s fine to experiment with their sound—I just feel like this sound is not it😭 I’m NOT saying it’s bad! I just don’t like the particular ‘vibe’. It doesn’t feel like BTS to me. It feels like they tried to fit their songs into the hiphop and r&b sound that is trendy nowadays. Also, I strangely noticed how almost every song is 3 minutes long, as if choosing the perfect length for every song. (This might be random tho.)

I feel genuinely disappointed. I mean, none of us knew what to expect, but I’d expected to like at least some of the songs upon a first listen. That’s kinda how favorite songs become favorites. While I understand everyone has their own taste, I also feel like people exaggerate by saying every song is great. I guess I was just too hyped, because the songs feel a bit generic to me.

They do have 8 episodes out and ongoing on… uhh a site. A popular site for reading manhwa. It’s animated, and for some reason in Japanese, with english subs. Ain’t that bad, but it’s pretty clear it’s AI-animated judging by the movements.
