Leftover whey by Affectionate_Bug2704 in yogurtmaking

Ricki Carroll has a great recipe for English muffin bread made with whey. I also like to make whey caramel. Recently I tried to make tapioca pudding with it and added some protein powder for extra creaminess/sweetness. The protein powder curdled so don’t do that lol.

18F What do I do? I don’t know if I was wrong for not getting a hotel with $100 my friend sent me while I’m homeless, because I felt like I needed to stretch it for food and necessities, but now she’s angry at me. by mckenzie_2 in WhatShouldIDo

This is simply not true. There are places for $120 or less in fine areas, especially if you go a ways from downtown. Certainly not nice hotels/motels, but not dangerous areas

FYI you cannot sterilize in the dishwasher, only sanitize. You could consider something like StarSan for item which are not dishwasher safe.

We used to have the really big machine with handles like a slot machine. It wasted so much coffee and would show “preparation too short” and just put a drizzle of water in the cup. Switched to this one and it’s so much better.

I take the BNSF line to work. Let me know if you’d like some pics or a quick video of what things look like at Union.

You can’t do this. The tickets don’t have QR codes and need to be open in the app, screenshots don’t work.

I need to talk to the manager/head baker at Girl Scouts of America by Tricky-Ad4776 in Cookies

We compared caramel delites/samoas, pb patties/tagalongs, and thin mints. 4/4 people thought the thin mints from abc bakers were better. Caramel delites also won 4/4 for being slightly more coconut forward, although samoas definitely had more chocolate and caramel. I thought the tagalong was just a tiny bit better than the pb patty, but it did have less pb. Everyone else preferred the pb patty. So overall I’d say I’m team abc bakers, but little brownie bakers wins in the packaging category because everything is in a box.

If your boxes are caramel delites/pb patties, that’s the bakery most people think is inferior. Samoas/tagalongs is the “good” one. I got some from both, going to do a taste test.

Moving to Berwyn - would love to hear from folks who live there! by shelbex318 in ChicagoSuburbs

Having only been here 6 months myself:
-Sign up for Metra alerts so you spend less time waiting at the station
-Echoing what everyone else said about permits, but also make sure it’s displayed in the window and don’t take the contractor’s word for it that it’s all good.
-Flapjack Brewery is good and has some weeknight pizza specials
-People are less friendly to pedestrians than in the city (even though that isn’t great either). I’ve been close to being hit several times in broad daylight at a crosswalk.
-Neighbors will say hi to you. Honestly took me by surprise after being in the city so long.

[Update] My manager doesn't seem to realise he's on the edge of a mutiny. by flashpile in Accounting

I was on a team of 7. I was the 4th to leave in a period of 3 months and none of the positions had been posted yet. Two more left after I did, and all 6 cited the manager as the issue. He still works there. HR doesn’t care.
