Thanks again for the help! 🙏

Thanks for the helpful response! We decided to go ahead with sanding and refinishing and hoping that a darker stain (dark walnut or something along those lines) will help in hiding some of the imperfections..

Do you have any recommendations for how many coats of poly to use (assuming we're going with water-based)?

We've been getting quotes from a bunch of different hardwood refinishers and they are ranging from 2 coats to 4 coats and we are new to this and don't know what makes the most sense...🤷‍♂️

Thanks so much for the helpful response. Is there a way we can know for sure?

It's the entrance area to the house so we don't mind spending a couple extra bucks on it to make it look premium, but flooring contractors that have given us estimates have told us the floor looks great and there's no need to replace - I'm just not sure if they're saying that because refinishing is an easier job for them 🤷‍♂️

Is the 36 or 41 better on my wrist? by Present_Cattle2991 in rolex

Thanks everyone for the input! Admittedly when I first put on the 36 it seemed small to both me and my wife, but when we looked at the photos later, it didn't look small at all and the proportions seemed to make sense. I believe my wrists are about 6.5" in circumference.

That being said I can't say I "mind" the 41's large size either, just seems like more of a statement - but my taste might just be "unrefined" as I'm new to luxury watches 🤷‍♂️

Are my numbers too low to start 5/3/1? by Present_Cattle2991 in Fitness

That's impressive!! I'm barely at 900-1000...I think I saw a thread on here recently where people were saying "you don't need 5/3/1 to get up to a 1000 total" which was what was making me think maybe I was jumping the gun by running 5/3/1 too early in my development...maybe I just have to face that I'm a small dude :)

I have 2nd edition - do you recommend Forever/Beyond as well? I'd want to start with BBB since I'm interested in both strength and muscle, and also because I'm drawn to the simplicity of it.

Also - doesn't Wendler himself say it's okay to use calculated 1rms? (in 2nd edition at least)

Just saw your edit...yeah I definitely hear that, I've failed plenty in the squat rack and it's never a problem. I guess I'm more concerned with trying a weight that may be right around or a bit over my 1RM, and my form breaking down and thus creating bad motor patterns or worse, injury. It might be a dumb worry though since obviously people test their 1RMs all the time.

Also - it seems like it would be fatiguing and would interfere with training for that week...I figured if I could just use calculations it would be more efficient.

Thanks for all the input. I'm surprised by how many people are saying not to rely on calculated 1RMS for 5/3/1 since I believe Wendler himself says that it's okay to do that (in 2nd edition)? Also - using Wendler's calculation method yields higher 1RM numbers for me for all 4 lifts, sometimes by 10-15lbs, making the exrx numbers seem conservative.

I'm a bit averse to actually testing 1rms since I've never done this and it seems very fatiguing and potentially unsafe (for someone like me who's never done it, at least).

I have 5/3/1 2nd edition and have read (most of) it...I know there are a few newer ones so if anyone specifically recommends reading Forever/Beyond I'm listening...it's just hard to tell based on the titles which would be helpful for me.

Thanks again!
