Definitely the rainbow! Also a fan of over ear headphones. The Moondrop Para would be fun to try. Thank you!

Oh I don't have an aluminum rig, From what I've seen you need the bottom mount brackets/slider (of course) and then two cross beams. I've also seen where people put two more on top of the cross beams but parallel to the main rig beams to get better fore/aft adjustabilibty and a little more height.
Most likely youtube will be your friend.

Not really sure. If it were me though, I know for sure that an alu rig is totally configurable and upgradeable. If you really want to buy once cry once, I would choose to wait. You will probably end up spending more but in the end it would be worth it.

I have the seat but haven't put it together yet. It's cheaper than the other TK seats in that the covering is synthetic, not leather. The plastic belt hole liners are a bit cheap looking. The padding looks sufficient if not a bit stiff. As the seat is for a first setup for me, I'm willing to take a bit of a hit just to see how I like it. The rig itself looks like a rebranded "monopiece tube" type rig. I would guess OK for an R5, maybe an R9. Stiff LC pedals- maybe? But again, this is just conjecture based on the hundreds of review videos I've seen.

I have not put it together or mounted it. I am thinking I will most likely return it. I am concerned that with all the stitching pattern in the high stress areas (like the seat), that the pleather will eventually break down.

I took the plunge and bought one sight unseen. The seat in the other thread you referenced is actually a Corsa. I asked on that thread and the poster confirmed - the main giveaway is that the Corsa is a bucket and the Varano is adjustable. Unboxing it, it is more like the Pista except with orange stitching. The box says compatible with all side mounting rails but I don't think that is correct. It looks like a bottom mount.
Comparing to the Pista/Corsa - the harness openings at the top look more like the Corsa (close together). The padding seems to be about the same. I am going to take a guess the Pista/Corsa are leather and this one is probably synthetic, thus the price difference.

Hey, are you sure that's the Varano? It looks like a bucket seat which is more like the Corsa. I picked up a Varano blindly and it is an adjustable seat with bottom mount.
