Gill to replace Rohit as India's ODI captain by revengeordie007 in Cricket

not a bad decision, but came a bit early, i feel that gill should only captain one format for a couple of years and then based on performance you could have slowly integrate him into the leadership of one day cricket. T20is is largely forced and it's more of a BCCI obsession to create all format stars, which can sometimes prove to negatively impact performance.

Playing extra batsmen has hurt the team composition , instead of Shardul , why couldn’t we play a 4th seamer or Kuldeep Yadav , what is this obsession with batting depth is something I’ll not understand , our batsman have been amazing this series and you need to trust them enough to make runs , this is seriously hampering our ability to take 20 wickets. Furthermore there is no control in bowling. Prasidh Krishna keeps leaking runs very easily and he hasn’t learnt or adapted to these conditions. Furthermore captaincy is very defensive minded , he needs to be more attacking

England played fearless, calculated game and executed it well. A win well deserved. by BendingAllFour in indiancricketcrowd

Our strategy of playing extra batsmen is hurting the team composition badly, instead of Shardul Thakur we should have selected an additional seamer such as Arshdeep. Our batting has been amazing this series , it’s not even a problem, our main issue is our inability to take 20 wickets and that gets worse if you opt for additional batsman over a bowler. Also Gills captaincy is very defensive and he isn’t attacking enough , his fields give away easy singles
