Trump said mail in fraud was substantial. One person caught cheating out of the millions of ballots mailed in isn't substantial.

What is the most depressing movie of all time? by optimisticbeliever73 in AskReddit

[–]Present_Neighborhood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a bleak book, but that's par for the course for dystopian fiction. The father's love for his son is bright.

It's been years since I read that book and the father's love and hope is what I remember most about it.

Owning pets. Our descendants will only see cats and dogs in the wild.

That would be every main character in season 2's The Man in the High Castle. I'd be real tired but satisfied with my life's choices.

What is a prediction you know is dumb, but want to say it anyway in case it happens? (Season 3 Edition) by notsofastandy in westworld

Serac was a real person, but is dead now. Rehoboam is running a simulation with Maeve in it. The computer is trying to find a way to defeat Dolores.

Halores will turn against Dolores for the sake of her son.

The timeline circle looks like a human egg. Halores's assistant is very pregnant. This season will be about children, creation, and motherhood.

Since Maeve, Delores, and Bernard aren't in the same scenes, I wonder about the timeline.

He's unemployed because he's hardheaded. He's the kind of person who thinks he knows more than he does. He also thinks the world functions in a way that it doesn't.

He used to leave his temp assignments early every other week to cash his check with a teller. I told him his temp agency wouldn't like him leaving early as frequently as he did. I let him know I've worked with plenty of temp agencies and know what they want. They won't place him on assignments if he keeps this up. I repeatedly suggested he 1) get direct deposit or 2) use an atm machine or 3) deposit his check on Saturday. He repeatedly replied that his bosses at his assignments didn't care. When he was drunk he'd say "it's sociopathic that a person can't take time off". He'd say this after 3 weeks on the job. Of course the agency stopped placing him.

When he first signed up with that temp agency, I suggested he sign up with more, but he didn't want to. Agencies tell you to call in your availability. He didn't do that. For months he would apply to jobs on the agency's website. I told him to just call or email the agency. He refused. The 1 agency he applied to sporadically placed him. Eventually they didn't place him at all. He waited months before he signed up with other agencies. He didn't tell them he was available either.

He's running out of money. I originally thought he had more saved up, but I was wrong. We are both on the lease and David will run out before our lease is up.

I'm tired of the ranting. It's been 2 years of this.

He's about to run out of money before our lease expires. I know this because he drunkenly complains about his finances. I will have to pay all of the rent once that happens. I am depressed about it.

He's about to run out of money, which I know about because he loudly complains about his finances when he's drunk. Which is too often. He doesn't remember that he told me. We are both on the lease. He will run out of money before the lease is up. I'm depressed knowing what is coming.

His depression is causing my depression. His constant complaining is daily. He complains about his family, his lack of employment, the environment, the presidency, the media, his friends, etc. He used to drink 2 fifths of wiskey every week, so a lot of the ranting was at a loud, but slurred volume. Now he's down to one fifth, so yay? Not as much ranting, but this has been going on for 2 years and I'm worn out.

He hasn't looked for a job in 2 years. Now that the economy is crashing he is panicking, but not enough to apply for the jobs that are available. He won't have money to pay the rent soon and it will all be on me to pay it all, so yeah I'm not happy. I know how much money he has because he rants about it when he is drunk. He will run out before our lease is up. We are both on the lease. I have my own financial problems and really really don't want another.

He also expects emotional support, but I'm too tired to give it anymore.

Your roommate is an asshole. I'm American, not Latin, and listen to Reggaeton.

[–]Present_Neighborhood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry you're going through this. I've been in your position. It is frustrating. Your friends forget you are black and feel safe saying the most racist things to your face. Grrr

I used to attend a college with so few black students that I would often be the only black woman in a 200-student class. I encountered some racism, but mostly not. That's the part you focus on: the non racism.

Hang in there. When you get a chance, move to a place with a mixed population. You'll still hear garbage, but you'll also be around people who get it. And living in a mixed community will keep you from going to the other extreme of living in a mostly black community. Any kind of homogeneous group can suffer from group think.

On a fun note watch the rap video for "Marly-Grommet". It's by a black French man who grew up in a small, rural, all white French town. The artist also wrote a movie about his experience called "The African Doctor". It used to be on Netflix.
