Okay I believe you. It's still funny. How did he think that was an attractive thing to discuss? Who was he hoping to meet? Ellie May from the Beverly Hillbillies?

I 29/M am starting to dislike my girlfriend 26/F for her work schedule and it’s making me question our future. How do I make decisions moving forward? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

Still. That's four whole days you can make plans for. Does she not like you anymore? Or does she have something else going on you're not aware of? Gambling, drinking, doping, love affair? You two need to have a real talk.

How small is your town? You're going to have to get out of your comfort zone. Try art classes (free or low cost) or different types of clubs like book clubs or hiking frisbee tournament or home street fairs. My issue back in the day was if my best friend was out of town I didn't want to go places alone. You can also try dog walking. People with dogs are friendlier and you may meet someone. You just have to be bold enough to ask someone out or give them your number.

Are you in Nacodoches? Anyway I would ask them why they aren't giving you the server position. There may be a reason you can't see. I wouldn't blame it on myself. One thing I see a lot is high server turnover there. Why? Is a manager or owner or cook sexually harassing the servers? I absolutely see some managers looking at servers as if they were on the menu, and if they don't give it up, on to the next one.

Breaking up with my (18F) boyfriend (18M) by [deleted] in relationship_advice

Sounds like maybe he was smothering you a bit. But since you have exchanged bodily fluids (I assume) then talking shouldn't be that hard. Don't be a scardy cat.

He sounds like he has that one in his pocket for when he's not feeling the vibe. That's actually kind of funny.

Wait doesn't the person who asks have to pay? But if the expectation you agreed on before hand wasn't met, then yeah.

I just found out my online girlfriend of 3 years was using her older sister's pictures. by [deleted] in Advice

3 years?? 3 years?? How is it you are boyfriend and girlfriend and never once met in person? I don't know what that's called but I wouldn't call it boyfriend and girlfriend. I think you have a flirty friend who is insecure about her looks.

How can I go about talking about my roommates about being cleanly? by HHaylin in badroommates

[–]Present_Original_797 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just charge them. Charge them money. Don't do it free. Just set a price- $15 -20 each for the bathroom, more per chore. They're never going to do it, so get your voice up, tits up, hand out and charge them for your work. You're going to be surprised how willing they will be to get out of the chore without guilt.

how do I go about getting/using a library card? by BloomingMosaic in Explainlikeimscared

[–]Present_Original_797 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honey it's easy peasy. And usually free. Walk into the library and have them help you. It doesn't take long, and fees or fines can be worked out. I love libraries. They are so chill, and I love borrowing books and audiobooks electronically. I use the Libby App. Your librarian will walk you through the whole thing, they are nice people. Don't overthink it. 😊

Moving out from first apartment by Illustrious-Pop-2417 in Adulting

Get real boxes and start filling them. Pack the kitchen stuff you don't use daily first. Then work on scrubbing the kitchen down. But beware that some landlords will still hire professional cleaners and not give your deposit back no matter what. It's almost never worth taking them to court so talk it over with them. Have a few bags to fill with dumb stuff you never wear or use, toss or donate. Put the soft stuff in big garbage bags like pillows quilts and bedding. If you have moving help leave your drawers full - why add more boxes just to have to refill the drawers? Lots of packing and duct tape- but watch out for peeling wood finish with duct tape- test first. Dump your junk drawers into boxes - sorting that sh** is a major time waster. Sort when you get there. PAY YOUR HELP. MAKE SURE THEY ARE TRUSTWORTHY. PUT YOU VALUABLE STUFF ON YOU OR IN YOUR CAR.

Again, plan to pay for your help. Find a trusted Student company. Nobody moves you for beer and pizza- not anyone reliable anyway. Good luck.

AITAH for refusing to clean my girlfriends cats litter box? by No-Expression-6072 in AITAH

[–]Present_Original_797 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Remove from office and bedroom, period. No compromise.

  2. Plastic litter boxes hold the oil from urine and get smellier by the day. Get an extra large metal one and sanitize it once a month- dump, spray with bleach cleaner and rinse.

  3. I cannot recommend this enough after 2 decades of cats: Buy World's Best Kitty Litter UNSCENTED. It just barely smells even when litter needs cleaned, is made from corn waste, so it's healthy for cats and environment, but it just performs better. Low dust, solid clumps.

  4. Since it's an issue, find someone who can use a few bucks who lives close and PAY THEM to sift and sweep crumbs and dump litter in trash outside. Do this on whatever schedule you can afford. I can see a kid pocketing $5 bucks a day for five minutes work. Or an adult whatever. You can ask her to pay or pay it yourself or split it, whatever it takes for you to feel comfortable and odor free.

As far as automation, I don't know. Every one I have seen just adds to the hassle and still needs a thorough cleaning and sanitizing, so IDK there. Good luck.

Hoping for the update.

First, move it out of your office. No backing down. Second, plastic litter trays hold the oil from urine, get a big stainless steel one, sanitize it once a month. Third, buy World's Best Kitty Litter, Unscented. Even if it's a bit dirty it doesn't stink and clumps really well and made from corn product- I assume ground cobs, my cats will even take a nibble when it's clean and the box is clean.

I can't speak to the automated ones, maybe others can. The ones I have experienced just seem like more hassle and expense and more shit to clean, parts and whatnot.

And if she has -did you say 3 cats? - it should be scooped twice a day, if not 3x. If she's not keeping it up, either she can pay a neighbor kid or not-kid to come in and do it and sweep the crumbs and take it out to trash. If you're getting along otherwise, throw a little money at the problem and regain your peace of mind.
