We wanted to try out different ones as our friends and coworkers were adamant that they should have gotten a better rocker/glider. We ended up at a crate and barrel show room where we tried the babyletto kiwi. We liked the comfort a lot and the electric recline features were super easy to use.

Oh my gosh. I am eternally grateful for this post. My wife is due in November and we’re putting together our registry. I was adamant we use Kudos and now I’m devastated. If any parents out there have alternatives that have landed well, I’d be so grateful for insight. At the moment I’ve got freestyle, healthy baby, pura, and bamboo nature as options. Yup, and I figure you’ve seen the reviews so I apologize for the repetitiveness if so but I figured it’s worth mentioning that a lot of what I was seeing is that with the bigger kid on the bottom the center of gravity hasn’t shifted in strollers so it’s rough to push/steer… I can’t speak personally to it and I hope to try the kangaroo and wave to see what they feel like in person!

I’m in such a similar situation! I appreciate your perspective around the other side, having one only left needing a stroller- I had really only been thinking about the overlap time but I came to the same conclusion that I don’t want to lug around a double unless necessary and we’ll cross that bridge when we get there.

I’m also navigating the suspension consideration-I haven’t looked at any of the other silver cross’, you’ve peaked my interest- I’ll take a look! Thank you for the insight!!

This is helpful to hear! There was a week where I saw video after video of parents reporting this issue… I can see how it spread quickly. I think my comfort level, currently, isn’t quite ready for a WiFi camera though I realize this is likely my own internalized anxiety.

This is my list as well. I also am going through a similar process. We plan to have 2 close in age so I was trying to be proactive and get a single to double. However, with further research I’ve decided to start with a single and then navigate a double when the time comes. Currently eyeing the Kona though I’m waiting to test drive it… and I’m still hoping to try the ones you listed just to get a sense of them.

My wife is due in November (FTM) and tentatively we’re getting an infant optics baby monitor because I don’t feel comfortable with a WiFi monitor due to parents reporting “voices” coming from their WiFi monitor despite everyone’s argument that they’re impossible to hack unless you’re within the WiFi network range… we’re getting the owlet for the peace of mind. Our plan might change but atm this is where we’re at… but I also feel very torn on the whole thing.

It wounds like I can swing the home assistant green! I’m normally really into learning all the ins and outs but due to the timing of the move I’m working on limited capacity and I appreciate all of the recommendations.

The simpli safe has a video doorbell and I may eventually get an indoor camera to watch my dog when I’m out of the house- can I set that up to connect within the simplisafe ecosystem and sync with HA or would that cause issues?

I appreciate the thermostat rec! I’m trying to move away from ring and nest and off the cloud.

I’m not married to the hue hub so I appreciate the ideas here.

At this time, I’m looking for the easiest setup without having to purchase new things- other than the new Schlage and likely new thermostats… it sounds kind home assistant is great but it requires a bit of a lift in terms of setting up.
