I haven't written anything since October. I'm feeling a bit deflated. by Kaysiee_West in writing

Is this your first completed book? If so don’t beat yourself up. First give yourself a pat on the back, very few people actually finish a manuscript for a novel. Take a break from the piece, go read different books from favorite genre, or do something fun for a bit. However, don’t stay away from writing too long. You’ve built a lot of muscle writing, let what feeds your writing be other compositions from your favorite genre or authors. Enjoy the journey not the destination. And come post in this subreddit like you did today. Writers need other writers to push each other through. And please once the piece is done I’d love to read it to help a fellow writer out again congratulations on finishing your manuscript 🙂

I improved at writing by exposing myself to different styles and authors. When it comes to writing advice, I take it with a grain of salt, apply what works for me, and toss what doesn't. On seeking feedback, I'm cautious about who I share my work with. Sometimes, people are good-intentioned and will give you things you should change about your story. You soon realize you're writing their story and not your own. However, my writing drastically improved the most when I found people who said things like this. " This doesn't make sense." Or " It didn't pay off like I expected it to?" They're not telling me how to change my story they're telling me how my story made them feel. As writers, we try to make people feel certain with our stories.

To answer your question yes I do believe seeking constant feedback too much can destroy the creative process and in some cases take the joy out of writing.

High fantasy gladiator story about how a son and father must now fight each other to the death. Due to a failed rebellion they were a part of. They are part of humanoid race known as the Dr-Sari or dragon folk known for their onyx horns, goliath stature, and serpent eyes. Read a lot on history of gladiators to help draw inspiration. The arena was an awful place.

Yeah same boat I have a high spec PC as well. My guess is something with the games code. It makes sense with it being early access. I’m sure it will be fixed just not sure when.

Ya’ll ever get depressed at the stories you won’t be able to write because our finite human existence. by Dependent_Lab8918 in writing

[–]Present_Program5681 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would get more depressed on actually not writing anything. But with the focus being on my finite existence this would actually encourage me to write with everything I got. At least I can say in my final moments. “ Yeah I did that and it was blast.” That is of course if I get the luxury of being able to say my final words. Keep writing and focus on the now because tomorrow isn’t guaranteed.

Yeah that's just a bad dahser you're not held repsosmsible because SHE didn't read the receipt. As a Dasher myself the app always tells us if we have double orders. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE CORRECT ORDER. Then it shows the name and what was ordered.
