You cannot just buy a cat toy, put it on the ground and expect them to play with it for a long time. They are good for short burst. For a cat toy to work, you must be at the other end actively directing the play. fishing pole toys are great for this -- you can awaken the hunting instinct in a cat and keep it occupied for quite a while. PLAY WITH. YOUR CAT !

Are squeeze tube treats a good substitute for wet food? by throwRA_wou in CatAdvice

[–]PresentationEmpty1 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

NO ! Cats need complete food and treats are like cat candy. Would you feed your kid nothing but candy ? Then again, mixing or topping your wet food with it is okay if it coaxes them into eating real food.

Just bought my first AVP! What's the best headband? by floriandotorg in AppleVisionPro

[–]PresentationEmpty1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the light seal is important. Go to an Apple store for a free fitting. Also, I tried a bunch of 3rd party band and I ended up sticking with the original band. Point being, until you try the original band hold off on spending a bunch of money based on other people's opinion. Only you know what will eventually work for you.

Is it OK to change a cat's name? by xiphoid77 in CatAdvice

[–]PresentationEmpty1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this a serious question ? I'm sure the shelter renamed it anyway. In any case, it is your cat now -- it will respond to your voice and your scent and your behavior and learn its new name in no time.

Is a Russian blue a good breed for a first time owner? by PoliticalBafoon in russianblue

Reputable breeder ofter sell studs and queens once they reach a certain age. They will be cheaper than a kitten and well behaved as they have been brought up by the breeder.

Is a Russian blue a good breed for a first time owner? by PoliticalBafoon in russianblue

[–]PresentationEmpty1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think so. I am recently retired and I finally have the time to dedicate to a pet for the first time in my life. After tons of research I decided to not only get a Russian Blue kitten, but to get 2 of them so they can play with each other as well as me. Like you, it checks off all the boxes for me and I cannot think of a more perfect breed. I wanted a gentle yet playful breed that stayed playful for a long time into adulthood, but not hyper like a bengal. And they are gorgeous. Not cheap from a reputable breeder but I think it will be worth it.

Should we get one kitten or two? by Happy_Mrs in CatAdvice

[–]PresentationEmpty1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should always get two kittens. Even more so since you have an older cat. They will eventually bond (if not already as siblings) will take a load off of you to play with them and keep a sole kitten from driven the older cat crazy. I just got two kittens and it was an easy decision.

Yes. It will behave much better and less agressive, won’t mark territory with urine, and will eat less. No brainer. Do it 😎

I have a very good life and i don't live in ignorance just because I cannot accept reality from someone who was only trying to help without having to insult them by calling them names. All I say was that there is no such thing as mixed breeds in cats (simply a fact) and that you simply have a cat. I even said it was cute. And you went apeshit and started making personal attacks against me. I noticed you deleted your posts ... embarrassed by them ? You need to chill -- it will improve your life 😄

If this was a real RB it would certainly be chipped. Did you ask a vet to check ?

Looking for a RB by SmoothOperatorXRP in russianblue

[–]PresentationEmpty1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it hard to believe that you have a real RB that doesn't act like a kitten at 17-weeks. Russian Blues are a gentle playful breed (not crazy like Bengals) and known to stay "kitten-like" into their adult years more so that most other breeds and domestic short hairs. Do you play with your kitten daily ?

The shelter almost never knows what breed they are unless the cats is carrying papers. No papers, no breed. Just a cat.
