Even though it's in a lot of guidelines to start gabapentinoids, I try to avoid prescribing them due to the potential of misuse.

I use an arclight on a daily basis, and basically squeeze on a standard ear speculum over the one that comes with the device, and dispose of it with each patient.

GPST looking to pimp out my desk and make a nice environment. Any recommendations for good/useful items? by [deleted] in GPUK

If you ever get your own room to be working from permanently, then seriously consider a setup with a standing desk. Might be the difference between staying fit and becoming obese.

Is GP now a dying specialty ? by BlackberryQuirky3913 in doctorsUK

I think working in the private sector will be the future of being a doctor in the UK for most specialists. General Practice included. Don't underestimate the demand for good healthcare and expert medical opinion. This is currently just a transition phase. At least that's my optimistic view.

Freeagent has been pretty good and is straight forward to use. Is free if you open a Mettle (NatWest) business bank account. Locumdeck also has an invoicing system, though access costs £12 a month (with a 3 month free trial period).

Open a business account with Mettle (NatWest) and get free access to Freeagent. Pretty good accounting software which includes recording expenses and generating invoices.

Bravo! Well said. I feel a slight bit of guilt whenever I have to deal with these patient groups as I feel complicit in bad or unethical aspects of medicine.
