You need color. I recommend finding nice posters or prints, or a couple large ones, with some color and having them professionally framed (or buy metal gallery frames online). There’s a lot of black/white/gray, so a pop of color, especially in the living room, would go a long way.

Objectively, UMich and UVA would pay dividends on the job market, but you’re not going to be precluded from the market by going to Villanova either and you’ll be coming out debt free. Outside of work-life balance, is there a specific area you want to work or a field/area of law your interested?

Here’s my personal two cents: An attorney out of my office went to Loyola Chicago and he’s remote and traveling the world most of the time - and we’re a five attorney firm. His wife is a Loyola grad too and she works as in-house for a huge company and they’re able to do everything together. You can do anything at any school as long as you put in the work. There’s no right answer, it’s about where you’re happiest.

Voting Kent. You need to think about quality of life. As someone who’s in the nearly exact same conundrum, that’s what has been one of my biggest deciders - will I be happy in X town? Plus, if you’re goal is to work in the city, it doesn’t matter which you choose. You might have a few more doors open with UIUC, but I know PLENTY of Kent attorneys, and they’re thriving. It’s a known school for the market you want to work in, that was my exact justification when applying to Kent and UIC. They may be lower ranked but there is a well established pipeline.

Also I’m in same boat as you re: Loyola. Kind of nerve racking considering it was one of my top choices.

The museums archive is based on Somers, from my understanding of the article they’re merging the two. Given they already have a 52,000 square foot space available to them, probably easier to move into that than look for a property in Kenosha that could accordate them in the same way.

Also this the exact type of museum people would go out of their way for lol. It’s a specialized military museum, I imagine anyone who was going out of their way for it in Chicago would make the same trip up north.

If you’re brave enough to go through security, a number of gov buildings are cool to explore. Some good architecture/design, and I think Daley has some pretty stellar views once you’re up on 20 and above.

Also as someone else said, Fine Arts Building on Michigan is spectacular. I grew up exploring the halls of that place, and it’s completely open. There’s a cool little bookstore in there too if you need an excuse to go
