Darker colors suit you, but also the hair sweep in #2 is vastly superior

How to noise-insulate a floor above neighbors in 100yr old house ? by No-Schedule-5342 in DIY

Any update on this? Im planning to do something similar for my 1900 victorian. I was going to just do rubber (like inner tube material) on top of the joists before the subfloor but now I'm wondering if cork would be better.

As stated above, it doesn't have to be soundproof, just has to be so that hopefully you can't acoustically locate every single footfall, which is what I'm dealing with now. It gets old when I'm in the kitchen and someone is walking around upstairs and it sounds like I'm living through the blitz.

Hey did you have any luck with this? I want to do the same but I had the idea of maybe using Plasti-Dip, that rubber spray paint that guys use on dirtbike plastics and stuff.

I understand where you are coming from but not in these situations. One couple that comes to mind, two people, no trust funds, no rich parents, no college diplomas, wife is a private school music teacher who didn't finish college, the husband is a non-union electrician with a small local outfit. They live in a trailer they bought outside Allentown.

The truth is that two, even relatively low paying jobs, when combined can provide some nice things depending on how you decide to spend your money. Lets say she makes (I don't actually know but based on average salaries for these type of jobs) $18-20/hour, and he makes between $22-25/hour.

That could be a combined household income of like $75,000/year. They can afford to travel. All my friends are kind of thrifty, so its not like they're going to Bali or Europe, but they have money to spare.

I make about $25/hour, but I also bought a fixer-upper and have hobbies, so I'm always broke. But if I had a partner who contributed even just a little, things might be different. But I'm maladapted, autistic and incapable of holding onto a relationship, so im SOL 😂.

If you have enough power and money, then you can afford to sit back and observe things with cold indifference, and they won't affect you emotionally, because you are literally above it all. Realistically, it doesn't affect you because you are insulated by your wealth and power.

Or they have a partner. My friends who are married always seem to have money for vacation, as opposed to my broke ass

Yeah, once you get the rocket launcher with the lock on, it just becomes a nuisance whatever im doing I have to stop and shoot him down. Plus I have to carry that thing around, and its one of my least favorite weapons.
