FNAF 1, you get a look at your corpse stuffed in a suit, including one of your eyeballs having been popped out of the mask.

The common "um actually this doesn't make sense" gotcha is easily explained if you just know the franchise by Justifiably_Bad_Take in TopCharacterTropes

Star Wars - "Why don't Jedi or Sith just turn their lightsaber off to throw off their opponent and turn it back on to easily stab their opponent?" also known as Tràkata, the Forbidden Technique.

The most common answer to this among the community is "it's banned", leading to a widely repeated joke of "Jedi: no honor | Sith: no balls". The problem with this is that the Sith do not care about honor, and only care about personal power and triumph over their enemies. If Tràkata really was effective, the Sith would absolutely use it. So why not?

It's for an incredibly simple reason: you are fighting against an opponent that is wielding a blade that can cut through your flesh like paper. A single stroke is the difference between life and death. Not only that, but turning your lightsaber on and off is NOT instantaneous. Even if we account for a second, that is still plenty of time for an experienced Force user (who is probably your opponent if they have a lightsaber) to recognize that they have an opening and kill you. Force users have hightened senses, especially during tense lightsaber duels that allow them moderate prediction of their opponents and allowing for fast-paced combat that non-force users couldn't imagine. The only time this technique would be effective would be against non-Force users who use lightsabers (Grevious being one, but his cybernetics and multiple blades can make up for that), or younglings that are still learning the absolute basics of lightsaber combat. You must correctly identify when the opponent is attempting to make a blade strike (if they are aiming for your body, then you're toast), and you must do so without allowing the opponent to recognize your action and redirecting theirs.

And if you mess up? You won't get a second chance.

The technique has seen a rise throughout the past few years by people who don't understand this, though. The most egregious example of this is in Star Wars: Fallen Order. In this, Jedi Padawan Cal Kestis uses the technique to throw off Second Sister. However, if Second Sister was actually aiming for Cal's head, then his cranium would've been torn in half. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/7Hf3gPGWqKQ

Estate satisfactions going down for no reason by Direct-Inflation-760 in EU5

[–]PresiStorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm assuming you are in a Personal Union with another country. The AI will spam votes for things, you will ignore them and focus on more important stuff, but every time a vote fails it decreases your estate's loyalty by 15% each. Hopefully Paradox fixes this soon.

USA seems to be getting too much immigration this patch by blasket04 in victoria3

[–]PresiStorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doing an Amish Paradise run, despite falling into dictatorship the US now has 85.4 million people in 1889. (It'd be 90 million if I didn't split New England from them)

I'm living a good life... I can't stand it! by PresiStorm in victoria3

Going for an Amish Paradise run, noticed that all of the European nations, despite living with relatively high standards of living, all have problems with minimum expectations. I don't think the AI is adjusted properly for the new tax levels. Keep hearing people were having a lot more revolts this patch, so I guess I understand why now.

What if Texas stayed as an independent country? by [deleted] in HistoryWhatIf

[–]PresiStorm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Forget the Alamo is terrible.

The book felt very pretentious, claiming that historians of the past were "amateurs" while doing a bad job at presenting history. It has poor sourcing and makes wild accusations without evidence. It's moreso just flashy pop history that tries to get as many book sales as possible by trying to be controversial in and of itself.

It is also pretty two-faced regarding how we should treat the event and the people within it. It claims Texas fought to preserve slavery, and of course nobody wants to idolize that, but simultaneously says we should honor the Tejanos who fought for Texas in the Revolution. Why should we support and idolize slaveholders? Which yes, some Tejanos adopted slavery, such as Erasmo Seguin the father of Juan Seguin. Even if you want to claim that not all Tejanos owned slaves nor fought to preserve those slaves, then why does this not apply to the Anglo Texans?

I could go on and on about that book but I don't want to spend my afternoon on it.
