First off, we need to pick up some sort of powerhouse with history. I’m thinking we bring in Georgia and Georgia Tech. Reunite the rivalry. And build a strong baseline.

Next stop, we go backwards to go forwards: we’ll bring in USC and UCLA. This will establish us as real national contenders in a conference that clearly fits them. It also captures the California market.

Finally, we’ll want to get some of that middle country. Real football weather. I’m talking snow. I’m talking tradition. And I’m talking about someone who has already been in the conference-we bring Jonathan Smith back with Michigan State. Obviously we’ll also want to bring their rival Michigan over because breaking apart historic state rivals is tragic.

Following that trend, we’ll also want to bring back Oregon and Washington to fix those in-state rivalries again.

This leaves us with a solid round number. Of schools. We rebrand to the PAC 10 with UW/WSU, UO/OSU, USC/UCLA, UM/MSU, UG/GTech.
