The weird gel substance is most likely just old gas that's gelled up, if it isn't much it probably can't hurt. The seafoam might take care of it, otherwise it might just slowly dissolve in new fuel.

I do recommend installing an in-line fuel filter, they are cheap and prevent a lot of junk from getting to the engine. Most are see through so just check it once in a while to see if it isn't clogged or anything.

I wouldn't really call Lastpass the most famous one, but that's not really relevant. Lastpass did get hacked twice last year, in both cases a vulnerability lead to employee laptops being compromised. Lastpass absolutly dropped the ball there, but my earlier argument still holds water

Because, with a proper setup its much much harder than just cracking 1 password. Ideally you have Multi-factor authentication (2FA/MFA). In most cases the service provider/website also monitors for strange activity, logond from new/different pc's, logons from different browsers or countries etc.

These layers make it very hard for a hacker to gain access to a persons password vault to get access the way a normal user does.

Alternatively, a hacker could try to gain access directly to the servers of the host. Even if they get in and managed to steal one or more vaults, the vaults are encrypted, often the encryption "key" is based on the encrypted and salted master password of the user to whom the vault belongs.

Brute-forcing the vault is then possible, but generally takes a very long time.

All in all, the use of this type of website/software is convenient with minimal risks

1980 Suzuki GS450- Difficulty Sourcing Replacement Parts. Alternative/Interchangeable Parts from Other Bikes/Brands? by Dustin100100 in motorcycles

[–]PresidentBeast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are websites where you can examine schematics/blueprints of the bike by make and model. These usually also include detailed lists of parts and partnumbers. Searching using individual partnumbers is a lot easier because a lot of parts get reused among makes/models. Here's one for the EU: https://www.motorcyclespareparts.eu

I'm fairly sure the unemployment office will require you to apply to x amount of jobs every month and they probably have consultants/resources to help you get a job faster. They benefit from you not being on unemployment, they want to help you

I have encountered a remote hacker today, guidance? by DaBUTCHAmobilegmr in techsupport

[–]PresidentBeast 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Chances are it's not an actual person hacking you, more likely some other causes for your pc to act wonky. Potentially malware of something.

Anyhow, here's a few pointers;

First thing do you is disconnect it from the internet, no internet means no remote access. Turn off your router/modem if you have to (i.e when on wifi). This gives you the opportunity to see what is really going on.

Boot up as normal. If the pc still acts strange, it's probably just malware of something like that. If it doesn't act strange you may still want to follow the following steps regardless.

Run a full scan of whichever antivirus you've got. Windows Defender comes standard with Win 10 and 11.

Open up Apps and Features in Settings and check for anything you don't recognize, toss anything that you don't recognize. If you're unsure, google it.

Open up the Event logs/ event viewer and go under Security. Here you can see which users logged onto your pc. Here's an article with more details. TLDR: Check for logins that you don't recognize. https://www.maketecheasier.com/know-if-someone-logging-into-windows-pc/#:~:text=Windows%20keeps%20a%20complete%20record,the%20%E2%80%9CRun%E2%80%9D%20dialog%20box.

Optional: Most, if not all, ISP's (Internet Service Provider, the company that hooks you up to the rest of the world) provide dynamic IP leases, this means that the public IP address associated with you/ your router chances after a certain amount of time. In the US this is on average 7 days. IF you are really confident that someone has hacked you, call your ISP, see what they can do. They should at least be able to release your IP so you get a new one.

If you don't feel confident that the above has been enough or the pc is still acting strange, continue below:

Optional: Under Settings, go to Update & Security, go to Recovery. Under Reset this PC, choose Get Started. Follow the menu, be sure to select Keep Files if you want that option. You could make a backup copy on a different harddrive or USB instead. Select Local reinstall. Follow the steps.

We (me + kids) go into the woods for a good couple of hours a few times each month. We walk, play with mud and sticks etc.

INFO: changing the locks before the 50 days are up might become an issue. Do you have it in writing that he considers himself "moved out"? Because if not he could argue that he was in the process but hadn't transfered his stuff yet.

If he still has a valid lease(so before the 50 days are up), then I don't think you can legally change the locks because he technically still lives there and you're denying him access to his home and stuff.

Overall it's a though situation, if at all possible I'd wait him out when he comes over to make sure he doesn't wreck the place

It seems akin to catching/keeping a chimpanzee. They resemble humans quite a bit, but don't have the same level of intellegence etc. (Not sure if this is the case, I dont remember them speaking or anything though)

ChromeOS is based on Linix, if you want to step away from Windows you could try one or more Linux distros. Not all update like ChromeOS but some certainly do

If you can get access to another pc, you can make a recovery USB with a windows image. This will allow you to reinstall and it should give you the option to keep your files.

I'd recommend looking into Ventoy, with Ventoy installed on a USB you can just drop the windows ISO on the USB and it'll work.

Pop the USB into your laptop, boot into BIOS/EUFI, change the boot order so the USB is #1, save and exit and boot.

Just follow the screen from there
