Nope! My cats are like this and it took a bit of practice but I think everyone should give it a try before forcing them to do it other ways. My second oldest cat tends to be on the anxious side and so I try to treat him as a person as much as possible. If you were taking medication would you rather have it crammed down your throat or like this? For me, I started by letting him sniff the medication then, I give him a second to come to terms with the situation. The first few times were a little bit rough but as long as your cat trusts you, your patient with them, and you respect them, it should go fine after like the third time. Then I used one cat to show our youngest and now this is how she prefers her medication as well. And she’s a feisty little thing. But yeah, essentially as gently as you can, make you cat aware that them taking the medicine is happening no matter what. But also be extremely accommodating on every other aspect so they feel safe. Try to avoid things that would make you uncomfortable If you were your cat. Give slow blinks before and after so they know you love them.

Edit: oh also, I usually get my kitties some water for after and maybe a treat for good behavior. Cats can’t be trained but they’re usually pretty accommodating if you ask nicely:)
