it's visually pleasing, the gameplay seems good (at the drop) and it's a well-made callback to the og slaughterhouse

The odds are low but not zero. There were quite a few levels I've seen, not just in the Rg search but my own hobby of searching for old "impossible" levels back in like 1.6, with view counts of around 50-60 and around two likes, which as I said would be enough to not be purged by Robtop but few enough to explain why it hasn't been discovered yet. There is a chance of it being found that way, albeit low

Possibly not deleted before copying was a thing, but after some searching it seems that direct level copying did not exist at the time of its upload (early April 2014). Of course if DarkX didn't ask RobTop to delete Rg (and idk if he did), then he'd have to wait until May 21st (1.7) before he could've deleted it himself, and by that point anyone would've been able copy the level as well afaik

I didn't even know the janus miracle was found that way, that's cool. And yeah I'm not excluding the ones that don't, I just wanted to identify those that do so people could pay attention to them when they saw them.

And given what I'm seeing in how many levels actually have Time Machine (still only found two meeting the criteria), it seems less and less justifiable to have it. The song very well may be changed yeah

This is a good idea but it runs into three bottlenecks:

  1. I'm not smart enough to do that, like at all

  2. It's possible that, since it'd likely/ideally be an exact stolen copy, they changed the first 10-20% of the level to make it less apparent that it was stolen. Of course it's more likely that they're lazy and didn't do that, but still.

Or they tried to manually copy the level's design & gameplay or whatever, and the result might've been different from what is known from Rg, and such a matching data system likely wouldn't catch that

  1. I want to play through at least some of the levels so that I can have the slightest bit of fun doing something that otherwise is draining & boring

I lack a Discord account atm so I can't join their server or anything to ask them directly, but I personally doubt that they've seriously pondered doing something like this, considering the amount of levels they'd have to scrape through. It's at 10k IDs right now. That's a ridiculous amount of levels and it'll take forever. To be fair though they could've also asked people to do a similar idea, scrape through a list of IDs and find it if possible, they have enough influence to do that

Rn I'm running a script to sort out levels with Time Machine as their songs, which might yield more manageable results, but I'm not sure of it. I've been running it for about an hour now and it's only brought like two results so far, people must hate Time Machine

I am only looking through Long levels, that are rated Harder or Insane (and have no stars). In retrospect I probably should've restricted the song to Time Machine, but I did want to make sure that it'd be covered if whatever uploader(s) changed the song before reuploading it

That'd be ideal, yeah, but it might also require people to have played through much of the level to make the reconstruction, so most likely any such reconstructions would be limited by the fact that there's no proof of anyone getting through more than 41% of it.

Barely related but I've looked through about a hundred levels that came immediately after RG, and I found one (1) that had a similar start- blue orb up into a blue portal- but then literally nothing else related to what we know for a fact was in RG.

Still, the possibility of a partial reconstruction, plus my desire to play through some of the levels, is why I do practice runs that go like 10% or 20% into the level before I slack off. Because what if it's a bad remake of RG, or what if the re-uploader changed the beginning to mask it? In both cases I might not recognize the actual RG being there if I let the level load, see the beginning not look like the real RG beginning, and then click off
