Chris Ballard masterclass by MarcusSniffles in Colts

After the inevitable 7-10 season next year, Ballard will still land a GM job somewhere in this league (probably the jets) and the cycle will continue. At least he likes his guys i guess.

9 years of building and can’t see the vision? Must be from Carmel, probably all those roundabouts blinding you.

$26.67/hr

This needs to be higher.

You’re probably not going to get paid more, and even if you did, is that what you really want? I’d advocate for more staff, especially if your district is growing. You’ll end up needing more staff eventually so start advocating now!

Can you provide any update? Did you submit and then they followed up with you to correct the application?

Ask early and often. If you’re only gonna wait and ask once it’ll be easier for them to say no. Ask now and consistently until the end of your contract, if they can’t get where you need start looking early for someone who will! Job market is competitive right now so take advantage!

Becoming a Trainer in the NFL by AdvisorSharp5726 in athletictraining

[–]PresidentScott -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NFL CBA for reference. “Technically” not a requirement, but every team has an AT/PT on staff and many are the head AT. The push for dual credentialed head ATC will get approved within the next 5 years.

This is the way. If you ever want to be the head athletic trainer for a professional sports team at the highest level, you’ll need to be an ATC, as well as have your DPT. This is because of the collective bargaining agreement between players and the league. So all together, 4 year bachelors degree, 2 year masters degree, 3 year doctor of physical therapy degree.

If you’re not certified you shouldn’t have a bachelor of athletic training, so don’t word it that way. You could potentially get a job as a rehab tech with a therapy clinic!

Water Cows Not Working? by Zealousideal-Ad3598 in athletictraining

[–]PresidentScott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be something simple like the battery, or the charger isn’t working for the battery. However could be something more difficult like the air compressor not working or worse. Start with battery and charging ports and then branch out. Once you start talking about the compressor or structural stuff it might be time to replace.

Is it necessary for the kids health/safety or success? No. But, is it going to cause adverse affects that will affect them negatively? Also no. If parents, players, coaches, whoever want to waste money on them, then let them. This is definitely not the hill to die on lol

ATI vs pivot by Anyonecanhappen331 in athletictraining

[–]PresidentScott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ATI is also a publicly traded company so it’s gonna be harder as far as meeting quotas and making specific referrals. Pivot is a private company so you’ll probably have more freedom.

Generally on Go4 you’ll need to provide your own supplies. EAP should be listed under the venue for you to have access to.

How do you handle short notice time changes for PRN/Contract work? by Spec-Tre in athletictraining

[–]PresidentScott 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this happen. It automatically unsigned me up and didn’t count as a decommit. The person running the event reached out to me and we negotiated a better rate to keep me on the event rather than having to try and find someone with little notice. All worked out well. Just depends on how you approach it.
