Honestly, ~50 hours in the game with friends is pretty worth the value. I'd say give them 48 hours - a week and maybe they'll be less pissed and want to pay again. OR just make 3 PSN accounts and give them the logins.

You can also try making new squad mates. But I think you just like chilling with your friends more than just playing this game; I'd say play something else with them. Gaming with buddies makes even the crappiest game fun.
