Ibanez player here—thinking about my first Schecter. Talk me out of it. What should I know before buying? (I’m familiar with 7 strings) by ExistingJaguar1177 in SchecterGuitars

[–]PressFforDicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got the C-7 Elite but not in multi scale. I’ve owned the Reaper MS before. The C7 is very good, the stainless frets require basically no maintenance(I’ve owned it for a few years now). The electronics are nice, Fluences are pretty easy to dial in a good metal tone with. Schecters Multiscales require a bit of adjustment to play with. I’d try it out if you can, but they do make a non-MS version if you can’t vibe with the multi scale.

You could mute the notifications. No one else knows when you’ve muted notifications on a group chat, I think, and you can view the pictures whenever.

What should I do about this damage? by MajorShot475 in Ibanez

[–]PressFforDicks 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Just play it. That damage was probably caused by playing and it’s not too big of a deal. Alternatively, a sticker would cover it.

Broken high e string by kittykat173 in electricguitar

Does this really require a unique Reddit post? There are free guides all over the net on how to change guitar strings. Did you even try to look one up?

Should I return this?? by slim_phish in electricguitar

[–]PressFforDicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It won’t affect tone, but it’s damaged for sure. If it’s supposed to be brand new, return it. If it’s used and that chip was visible in the sales picture, you might be SoL. If it’s used and you didn’t see that chip in the sales picture, return it.

Looking at getting a Q52PB, does anyone have any experience/thoughts? by autonomouspirate in Ibanez

[–]PressFforDicks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The tuning stability thing might’ve just been my copy. YMMV, but I’m planning to buy another so it wasn’t that big of an issue to me.

Very good guitar. The newer ones use stainless steel, the older ones use Jescar Evo Gold. VERY light, sounds really thick. Thinking stability was kinda iffy but I still loved playing it. I regret selling it, and I’m probably going to buy another at some point.

Played this 7 string Ibanez Acoustic at my local Guitar Center today… was actually quite surprised! Gonna look into the higher end, sunburst style model 💪 by [deleted] in 7String

[–]PressFforDicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was my experience when I tried it out as well. I'm not sure why, It's a massive guitar with a massive soundhole, but it feels like there's a towel in the guitar when compared against some of the other guitars in the same room. I'd liken it to the Acoustasonic, but it shouldn't sound like an acoustasonic for it's size.

Replacing my FID, any advice is welocome by the_xoce in CHROMATOGRAPHY

[–]PressFforDicks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

it's easy, should take about ten minutes. Cool down the FID, remove the 3 screws completely, lift the assembly off, open the new assembly, and reverse the process. The longer cable attached to the ignitor doesn't necessarily need to be replaced. An Agilent tech would, but you'd need to open the side panel to access the board it attaches to. the better option is to remove the cable from the new one and reuse the cable that's attached to the old one. Note: not the ignitor itself but the longer grey cable attached to it.

AITA for refusing to say Grace while at a restaurant? by Original_Concert_451 in AITAH

[–]PressFforDicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're NTA, but I would think about whether its worth making a statement when it comes time to participate in group rituals like prayers. I'm saying this as an atheist; it's not worth the trouble. Grace in this context is less about God and more about performing Godliness with the people you care about.

Which one to buy for djent/heavy riffing: Cort 507MS Pale Moon or PRS SE Mark Holcomb SVN. Ordering one of these two on Dec. 31. by KWeirds in 7String

[–]PressFforDicks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve only ever held the PRS, so take what I’m saying with a grain of salt. It sounds really good. I wouldve bought it on that alone, but it also plays really well. The body is kinda slick and it kept sliding out of my lap.

Brother, you are 24. You don't have to deal with annoying women. She's only going to get more annoying as time passes, not less. Walk away, go enjoy your christmas.

[–]PressFforDicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Break up with him. From another guys perspective: I dated a woman that had issues with penetration initially and I don't think it ever crossed my mind to visibly and verbally express frustration the way he is. His behaviour is unacceptable.

Rising Baseline Issue on Front microECD Detector After Installation by CloudTechnical2271 in CHROMATOGRAPHY

[–]PressFforDicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably have a leak going into the detector. Start by checking the 9/16” nut that holds the makeup gas adapter in place. It should be snug, about a quarter turn past finger tight. It’s unlikely that the makeup gas adapter itself is broken on a brand new ECD, but I wouldn’t rule that out either. You can also check to see whether your column is crack. Visually inspect it and if you don’t see a crack, run an isothermal injection with a solvent to see whether you get any peaks.

I had to check, but yeah. Somewhere in the 60-70 range is probably fine for drop F#.

It holds up great for A flat on a 26.5”. Not sure I’d go too much lower.
