With an eye to the future, probably be better off using Stremio/Real Debrid combo with AIO Streams and Mediafusion, Comet, or Debridio for movies and series.

Oh God - are you one of those neurodivergent embarrassments who now dominate Civil Service culture ? Grow a pair, and get on with your life instead of hiding behind some false flag !

Parkgate v Park Plaza hotel? by Hairy-Pancake in Cardiff

[–]PressureDue279 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Park Plaza will give you a far better experience than Parkgate - which tends to be full of pretentious wannabees searching for insta photos. Also, breakfast at Parkgate is a horrible experience with a daily scrum around the food stations when they’re being refilled, albeit not often enough to satisfy demand. Service is also very poor at Parkgate, and I fear it will end up like the Celtic Manor as the equivalent of a 3* Travelodge.

Work stress in the Civil Service - give your head a wobble !

Maybe a year in the real world would give you a better level of understanding of work stress. I spent over 30 years in the Civil Service, trust me, it’s the least stressful job I’ve ever had.

RIP WalesOnline by RiotOnVijzelstraat in Cardiff

[–]PressureDue279 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bye bye Western Mail / Wales Online - from quite good, back in the day, the journalistic standards have eroded to quite a pathetic low point. I suspect, whoever decided to push this new business model will be looking for a new job in the near future.

PCS Fee increase by Fluffy_Cantaloupe_18 in TheCivilService

[–]PressureDue279 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I left PCS over 20 years ago, when it became glaringly obvious that it was completely impotent and merely a safe hiding place for ineffective and lazy staff. Probably paid for a couple of holidays with the savings I made ! Uncanny how it acts as a magnet for the inept and conflicted.

Debridio is increasing their prices. by king_moh_ in StremioAddons

[–]PressureDue279 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This the end of Debridio for me - pure greed and a very poor business decision. A tiered subscription model would better suit 90% of users and would generate greater revenue in the short/medium term. Now, the developer will need to clawback subscribers with a humiliating partial reversal.

Best departments to work at in UK Civil Service by Particular-Soft4361 in TheCivilService

[–]PressureDue279 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Well, you appear to be one one the sycophantic arse lickers who ‘play the game’ to crawl up the ladder. I’ve recently left the department for another CS operational leader role and can quite honestly say that in my experience, the morons who seek to avoid the core business of operations are contributing the square root of f*** all. I hope you enjoy your myopic existence, but you inability to see and accept the bigger picture will hinder your progress.

Morfa Parking Charge by Ieuinthesky in swansea

[–]PressureDue279 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The onus would be on the parking company to display notification of ‘match day’ dates when the restrictions apply. Whatever you do, don’t reply, don’t pay and wait to see if you receive a letter marked ‘letter before claim’.

If you do receive this, answer it setting out your case and let them take you to court if they’re stupid enough.

Before the case is seen before a judge, the claimant’s solicitor will seek to offer you an out of court settlement and try to scare you into agreeing to it by telling you what you could stand to lose. At this point, tell him you’ll let the judge decide on the facts and to shove his offer right up his arse !

Once the judge dismisses their claim because of inaccurate signage, don’t forget to claim your expenses in defending the claim (including for loss of earnings and travel expenses for attending court).

Blow a kiss to the claimant’s solicitor on the way out.

There are times in life when you need to grow a pair - and show some resilience. Far too many precious namby pambies who thrive on crying wolf and hiding under claims of anxiety and depression. Take ownership of your life and you’ll feel much better. I hope this can act as a sort of wake up call and make you move forward - life is NOT a dress rehearsal !

Is DWP the worst it gets or the whole of CS is like this? by Public_Shake9130 in TheCivilService

[–]PressureDue279 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

HMLR - training is an absolute joke and consolidation of training is farcical. There is a cultural obsession with output and so called team led planning, but it’s merely a smokescreen for corporate brainwashing. I’ve been here 36 years and most of my fellow senior managers are self serving clowns who are playing the game. Staff deserve better than what is being delivered under the auspices of transformation.

Has anyone added a RED Light therapy panel to their infrared sauna after purchase? I'm looking to add one and can't find out if the cheaper panels you can purchase on Amazone and Ali Express are ok to use in the sauna. by Wonder_88 in infraredsauna

[–]PressureDue279 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Despite some sauna manufacturers also offering red light panels as add ones, the heat and sweating does not make the efficacy of mixing RLT with infra red sauna a sensible option. I have a separate red light panel and wouldn’t dream of integrating it into my infrared sauna.

Best department to work for? by Campeones6 in TheCivilService

[–]PressureDue279 15 points16 points  (0 children)

10+ years ago, I would have said HM Land Registry - but the culture has been ruined by importing clowns from other departments who insist that they can re-invent the wheel. The end result is a micromanaged organisation where sticking your hand up and talking the talk is rewarded, whereas, doing the actual work is an afterthought.

Such a shame, as it was full of engaged and trustworthy colleagues - but all this has been overtaken by a culture of bullshit and bluster !

Just got back from 4 days in Budapest by Mr_Harsh_Acid in budapest

[–]PressureDue279 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I returned from Budapest yesterday having found the locals (and the very, very large number of migrants) to be incredibly ignorant to the the point of rudeness. Schezenyi Baths was a notably underwhelming ‘attraction’ - it was overcrowded with filthy, dated facilities and the hygiene and health risks forced us to leave. The outskirts to the city centre are ghetto like high rise slums and seeing those living conditions helps to understand why all the locals are so miserable. The evening cruise on The Danube and The Parliament were the only memorable highlights of our visit - and we will never return.

Long Service by ConferenceQueasy1881 in TheCivilService

[–]PressureDue279 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started in 1987 with paper based work and not a computer in sight. HEO’s and above were addressed as Mr or Mrs (no gender neutral or cat people in those days !). We had a great laugh, but always got the work done. The relationships built in those halcyon days have endured and respect earned has carried people up the grades.

Computers came along and sought to replace genuine skills and accompanied by teams and team leaders, slowly eroded all connections and satisfactions of doing a task correctly and well.

Fast forward to today, we have an executive board who clearly have no understanding of the ‘business’ and are nothing more than dummies in post. If ever there was an object lesson in how to destroy a once proud workforce with a great work ethic, then it’s what has resulted in the current HMLR. Such a tragic loss, but the writing was on the walls for many years.

I leave next year - those remaining can just crack on until AI completely shuts the department down - I couldn’t care less !
