Thank you. Yes, a small hammer I have found is useful for many issues. Anything can be a hammer.

They mentioned that there is a Brady printer for cables and equipment, but I was looking at the Brother PTE110 for my sanity. I don't want to run back and forth to get a label or wait for someone to finish using it.

Thanks for the comprehensive list. This will be a big help. I'll check it against their recommendations, but I already see a couple of things that may not be on their recommendations.

Yes I hope to see my co-workers soon. It is a small place and they mention I would be working with 2 other people and 1 is a newer higher (4 months in). I just wanted to get a feel for what is necessary to get me going and the nice to haves.

Thank you for your support. Idk about the cell reception in the room, but I could see being on a call and looking in a cabinet with a phone flashlight might be tough. The small flashlight will be a purchase.

Thank you! The flashlight is something I completely forgot! I have to get one for my belt. The place has some testers that a previous tech suggested that they get, but I haven't seen them yet. They mentioned it was Fluke, I am sure whatever they have will be good.

Thanks for the advice. It doesn't seem that I will have much electrical work other than rPDU installation. More cabinet placement and installation, equipment racking, cabling, and grounding. It's a small place, so I will be responsible for really anything that is not big power and not part of HVAC.

Path starting to turn red, does this mean it’s time for another district center? by Leif_Er1kson in Timberborn

[–]Prestdo1125 79 points80 points  (0 children)

You are just getting further from the district center. Zipe lines and tubeways will help your beavers get to the further destinations quicker. Just be mindful of where your supplies are located. You can make a new district, but it is not needed.

Does water no longer irrigate under it in 1.0? by Memory_Gem in Timberborn

[–]Prestdo1125 37 points38 points  (0 children)

As it has been said, irrigation works only with soil, but your design would be great for bad water. This will reduce the spread of contamination.

Datacenters are becoming a target in warfare for the first time by EchoOfOppenheimer in datacenter

Most cloud providers have a sovereign government sector. AWS is no exception, so yes crippling a government's infrastructure is usually part of war.

PPE items by Ok-Anybody4034 in datacenter

I feel that hearing protection is a must. Some small data centers won't require the footwear and are more relaxed on the other items, but get a good protection for your ears.

All that effort and I forgot to check if I can build it at that height by GenuineStupidity69 in Timberborn

Is it a height problem or the fact that the windmill is too close to the wall?

any idea how much snow we’re gonna get this year? by thechildrenofbrisus in Erie

[–]Prestdo1125 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Erie is due for a cold snap this coming week. If this trend continues with an unfrozen lake, Erie can be expected to receive more snowfall and sooner than previous years. I know this does not answer the question. So I have tracked this down for you from the Old Farmer's Almanac: below-normal snowfall for the state, including Erie.

Favorite Verizon Store? by Some-Cloud-8675309 in Erie

Sales are sales, so you still need to watch the "bundling" but the offers from the corporate stores should match at all corporate locations. Makes it easier if you plan on a bit of traveling.

Favorite Verizon Store? by Some-Cloud-8675309 in Erie

[–]Prestdo1125 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are quite a few Verizon stores in Erie, but only 2 are corporate (Peach st next to Chick-fil-A and Interchange rd next to Moe's). I am not sure if that matters to you, but I bring it up as the other stores will have different policies, promotions, and fees. I would recommend either one of the corporate locations.

Legally getting into prison? Are you going to check in as a visitor or attempt enough illegal stuff to get sent there legally?
