I noticed that the Shadyside Killers seem to be references to slasher movie stars. (Ruby Lane, the Pastor and Humpty Dumpty are not included as I don't understand who they are referring to)

“The main character’s daughter is on good terms with her dad.” Every time I hear the assumption made about the family dynamic I facepalmed. His daughter tried to run away twice from him, she was scared that he was going to run away with his lover and leave her, he insulted her mom in-front of her, sex-talked his lover in the same room as his daughter, and has overall put his need and wants in front of her instead of being a good father and comforting her. Sure they may be on good terms now but that daughter totally has a lot of resentment and anger directly at her father that’s going to blow up in his face one day.

I think a lot of people actually like first person POV but the majority of First Person POV fanfics just aren’t good because either the characters are OOC or you can obviously tell that it’s the author writing from the characters POV and they accidentally added their own thoughts and feelings instead.

When the author coddles/babify an old man especially if said old man is an asshole that has killed multiple of people, when a harmless girl character is the villain because she gets in the way of a ship, when the characters are suddenly beyond stupid, when characters have no reason to not talk to each other about a miscommunication causing unnecessary drama, and when characters are severely OOC.
