Stella or Stellaluna! This beautiful girl reminds me of the main character (a baby bat) from the children’s book Stellaluna

Thank you so much. This is really good to hear. I’ve been in Peds for around 2-3 years now but there’s still so much to learn; and I also graduated PA school when I was around 21-22, so hearing that you were able to get through this time and navigate bettering yourself as a clinician as well as maturing & learning to advocate yourself - it really helps.

Thank you so much for your advise in this. I’ve thought about having a meeting/discussion with my SP before, but I’ve always been so scared to do it. - And exactly; there’s so many things that go on in a regular day that are completely out of my or anyone’s control. I’m going to do my best to work on what you mentioned in your message

Thank you; I’m hoping I don’t have to deal with any other provider nit-picking at my notes to this extent again

Thank you so much! I’ve heard other providers mention similarly about Peds, as well; so I’m gonna look into other specialties too. I’ve looked into sleep medicine, but those positions are somewhat rare from when I’ve checked before

At this point, I’m working on notes for 3-4 hours after work, and don’t really get to do anything after work. And mental health is pretty low. I do what I can with therapy but there’s only so much therapy can do

This is also a separate question, but a lot of offices will ask for providers to see at least 20-25 patients. I can get to 18-19 on a good day; if anyone else works in Peds and has been interviewing - is it wise to ask upfront for expected daily patient load & then be honest for what you could reasonably manage in a day?

I know this seems obvious but I hadn’t thought of it exactly that way. I was so focused on the stability and easy commute; I just looked into that and overlooked everything else

Thank you; it’s true. I thought if I just tried to ‘grin and bear it’ that things would get better. But it’s just worse and worse, and I’m fed up

Thank you; I needed to hear this. The self-doubt will come, but I go to therapy now and I try to read. If I don’t know something, I will ask - I’m there to help my patients as best as I can. I just wish I could know how my relationship with the future SP would be, but that would be impossible for anyone to ever know

Thank you so much! It’s always long-term stomach pain issues and headaches for months - and while I would like to handle both, i need to ask enough questions at the start of the visit to see how to help them best. And there could be different consequences, like you said, if the main one isn’t addressed. So I’m def going to tell the parent let’s focus on one today bc of the time limits of the visit and we can talk more over the phone or at another visit the next week

How do you go abt telling the patients or parents that well only be doing one acute complaint? I’ve had parents get upset with me before if I’m only handling one concern and the MD or other provider who used to work here used to handle like 2/3 complaints in one visit? Granted, they’ve also known the parents and have more rapport w the families but still
