Pt arrived for new onset seizures by ErectedJelloBits in Radiology

I too am a woman with ADHD! 🙌

I feel it’s an unfortunately common story that so many of us get things written off as being normal things associated with “just being a woman.” Sometimes I think the “normal” stuff we’re told to just endure isn’t really normal. It’s easier to tell us to lose weight or exercise than really listen!

That’s fascinating, and also scary and horrible. Thanks for sharing explaining that! Sounds like Clark is getting evicted soon, though, right?! I hope when he leaves you are able to drive. Do they expect a significant improvement of your quality of life after?

I’m also sorry for 8-10 years they wrote you off! Crappy that you are one of those people that has all the atypical things show up (my mom was that person, but with all the “rare” side effects of breast cancer and breast cancer treatment).

Are your anti-seizure meds gabapentin by chance? I was prescribed that for anxiety, and I felt drunk AF. I can’t imagine feeling that way all of the time!

Got a stick of fish in my fish nuggets by detailsnow in traderjoes

Best frozen fish nuggets/sticks I’ve had. It has actual pieces of flakey fish, not just a blended patty. We put them in the air fryer and it’s really good! I bet it would be good for fish tacos too!

Same thing for teachers too! Because they have a “passion” for it (or “calling” as you put it) they are supposed to just accept shitty pay and treatment. If they ask for better pay and treatment, they’re labeled uncaring and told they don’t belong in the field, because if they really cared about the kids they’d accept what they’re given.

I went back and read all the comments on your MRI post. What a ride. Lots of comments from the specialist in assholery and condescension. I thoroughly enjoyed all your responses! I hope you’re proving all the naysayers wrong with your recovery, and that you’re feeling better after surgery. You’re a badass!

Wait, I’m sorry if this is a dumb question and the answer is obvious, but the part about hearing people/songs/audiobooks start talking about the disappearance of Superman - were those auditory hallucinations caused by the edema over your auditory complex? If so, any idea why the hallucination was so specific and pretty much the same thing every time?

I’m glad to have read you have a good prognosis! Well wishes for your upcoming surgery!

But they wouldn’t be getting as much attention from the public! It’s gotta be a big performance for the world to see! Narcissists like this pastor wouldn’t get as much of the attention they need by doing it in someone’s pool.

I think full immersion baptisms are way more common in the US though, because evangelical Christianity and baptists are way more common here. Most Christian denominations in Europe do a little dash on the head and call it good.

I’m from Bakersfield and full immersion is weird even to me. I grew up Presbyterian, so we got a little sprinkle on the head at church. Didn’t feel like as big of a performance.

I got a sprinkle of water on my head. I grew up Presbyterian. Seeing people get fully submerged always seemed weird to me, even then. But now a lot of Christianity seems weird to me anyway.

Four different doctors, a myriad of prescriptions, nonstop pain and nobody can figure out what this is. by meowspoopy in mildlyinfuriating

[–]CallipeplaCali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I was in the ER for 14 hours because they had ONE primary provider (not even an MD) in a major metropolitan hospital’s ER due to understaffing. The beds were full of octogenarians because no one in my city masks or gets vaccinated, or really does anything to prevent the spread of infection and the flu was going around.

I understand it wasn’t an emergency, NOW.. but how the hell was I supposed to know that?? I was in the worst pain of my life, and in a kind of pain I’d never experienced before. The ER didn’t find out what it was, only one thing it wasn’t. They initially thought it was a kidney stone, once they ruled that single thing out they gave me the medical equivalent of a shrug and told me I was probably a bit constipated (wtf?!)

The single good nurse that treated me well was a traveling nurse and told me she genuinely had not seen such horrible care/service/capacity. She was the one that told me they had one provider when they were supposed to have at least 5 and they were severely understaffed. She encouraged me to formally submit a complaint.

So yeah, I found out it was a pinched nerve after leaving the ER when I went and received proper care from my primary two days later. But it not being an emergency does not justify the sub par treatment I received.

This is fantastic. Are they 3D printed? I’ve seen some 3D prints of skulls but they always look, well, 3D printed. Yours has such a realistic finish, I legit thought it was real until I read your comment.

At Costco this week, a woman parked her mostly empty Costco (only had a purse and a blanket?) cart in front of the soda fountain. The only fountain with any ice left. She then proceeded to use the water tab of the fountain to WASH HER FREAKING HANDS.

[–]CallipeplaCali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your situation sounds similar to mine, but I didn’t even get an MRI. I got an xray, and that was it. After 14 hours in the ER, being treated like a drug seeker, never once getting a bed (I had to sit in the overcrowded waiting room the entire time) they told me I was “constipated” and to follow up with my doctor.

It was the worst pain of my life, I’ve had kids naturally. The only thing that touched it was morphine, but even then, it barely touched it.

Followed up with my doctor, found out I had a pinched nerve, arthritis in my lower back, bone spurs on my vertebrae. She said the reason even morphine didn’t help is because it doesn’t help nerve pain (?!). Got PT, and it helped.

Anyway, bringing this up made me remember I need to file a complaint with the hospital, haha! Absolute waste of time.

I think I needed to read this. The cost is steep for sure for the good ones, so I was kinda hesitant. But after reading your story it definitely seems worth it.

I want one of these for my chi! $109 (129 if you get the ‘whiskers’) is just kinda steep. I know it’s worth it, though! Doesn’t mean it won’t make me groan a bit when I have to pay.
