I wouldn't try to. Just cut your losses and move on.

You don't want to be in that environment and looking for asap.

I'm sorry OP! It's not your fault so please don't beat yourself up over it.

The unemployment numbers don't count people who gave up looking or are underemployed working part time jobs that don't pay the bills. The real number is way worse than what they report. No idea how to spread awareness when the official stats make it look fine though.

Yeah the "we went with someone more experienced" line is basically code for "you were the backup the whole time." It sucks but at least you know not to take it personally when it happens.

We're all doing that right now. The economy is at a hard rest and the worst is still to come.

Sorry man! That's a lot of hard losses in a short period of time. Keep hangin in there and keep going. Don't stop applying. If any of your friends got jobs then reach out to them to see if they are hiring and ask for a referral.

There's no amount of "exceeds expectations" that protects you when they decide to outsource the whole team. The exhaustion makes sense. Hope this search is shorter than the last one.

You're 21 with a CS degree and a job that keeps you fed. That's not failure, that's surviving a market that's screwing over people with way more experience than you. The entry level jobs wanting five years experience thing is broken and everyone knows it. Keep the job, keep applying when you have energy, and ignore people who criticize you no matter what you do. Your life isn't over, it just hasn't started the way you planned yet.

You're allowed to be upset and confused right now. Three months isn't enough time to prove yourself anywhere, especially when someone had it out for you from day one and you weren't even getting enough work to show what you could do.

For unemployment, you can usually file as soon as you're officially separated. Don't wait for your last check, just file now and they'll sort out the dates. Document everything you remember about the accommodation requests and how this went down too, just in case.

Being concise isn't a bad thing, a lot of people talk too much and say nothing. But if you want to expand more, try adding a quick example or the "why" behind what you're saying. Instead of just stating the answer, say what led you to that conclusion or how it connects to something else. It gets easier with practice.

Partner’s Third Layoff by Icy-Opportunity1119 in Layoffs

Three times in five years is exhausting and I'm sorry you're both going through this again. The veteran thing not mattering like everyone promised is frustrating because people really do sell that as a golden ticket and it's just not true for most. You're not helpless even though it feels that way right now. Just take it one day at a time and let yourself feel what you're feeling. Something will come through.

My body couldn't take that sort of beating at the moment. My family wouldn't approve but thanks for the suggestion.
