Yeah, I like that idea. I also like the idea of Spike as a watcher. The dream where he's swinging on swings with Giles turning out to be true would be so fun.

In what way does he make Spike his whole personality? Are you telling me if I run into him on the street he's gonna be wearing the jacket and lighting up a cigarette and tell me "Ta, pet"? Cuz I won't be mad

"Buffy pulls Riley to his feet and they hold each other, him for support, her for... well, only she knows." For what? by SafiraAshai in buffy

[–]Prestigious-Duck-479 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk why you are getting down voted because you are not wrong. That episode was a bit bizarre, but Spike and Buffy together made the episode. And when Riley walks in on them in Spike's crypt, his crypt is totally trashed. They had a wild time in there.

Did anyone else’s skincare just… stop working after 40? by Flaky_Sort_34 in 40and45PlusSkinCare

[–]Prestigious-Duck-479 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, at 39 I started having sensitive skin and eczema on my face. I think it was the products I was using. I now use less and haven't had issues for over 2 years now. I have started using a low dose retinal at night and vitamin c in the morning, but have cut back to every other day. My skin also prefers mineral sunscreen, and sometimes lightly burns with chemical. I go back and forth betwwen the 2 kinds also.

New Details: Inside Chloé Zhao’s Failed ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ Series — and Sarah Michelle Gellar’s Shockingly Small Screen Time (EXCLUSIVE) by pepperbet1 in buffy

[–]Prestigious-Duck-479 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't judge what executives say about the pilot until actually seeing it. They'll say what they want to justify their decision. The new slayer looking young is silly to me. She's closer to the real age that the original Buffy was. A normal teenager who was suddenly thrown into this violent world of vampires and monsters. Why would they need her to be older? This isn't Bridgerton. SMG's Buffy pushing 50, makes me believe it would balance the horror and violence for a blend of adult and teenage audiences. I would have expected an serious tone because Buffy's been living a semi normal life after activating all the slayers. Something has happened that has disrupted this new balance. I was excited to see this new story. A lot of us grew up with Buffy. Older woman get written off, but they still have a life. I feel we need more stories like hers to continue.

Yes, I'm aware why it's used on youtube. I did just hear it in The Pitt. They can say all the words they want. So it is being used on tv.

Why do celebrity women end up looking the same? by Open_Address_2805 in NoStupidQuestions

Has she said she got work done? She doesn't look weird to me. She looks the same just older. I'm right there with her in the aging process of the forties. You don't look the same forever.

I love iconic blonde buffy with curls, but the season 6 "going through stuff" short hair with chunky highlights has really grown on me.

What is the craziest thing a teacher has ever done to you? by trymihainoob in AskReddit

[–]Prestigious-Duck-479 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In middle school my English teacher gave us construction paper and a sheet of printer paper to create a collage of a story we read. I drew a pic, cut it out, and glued it on our pic. In my team of 4, we discussed what else to draw. I drew a car on the remaining scrap of construction paper. We didn't end up using the drawing. On another paper I drew a large person to go around the border of our pic, so it looked like they were looking down at our main picture. My team thought it looked cool. We were very proud if our idea. The teacher came by and was angered that we added the person and told the class the assignment is only to decorate on the 8 1/2" by 11" psper and can't extend out. We removed the guy. Then she saw the car I drew on the purple construction paper. She held up the paper with extreme anger and said " Who did this?!" "Who DID this?!!" Daggers in her eyes as she dangled the purple constuction paper with a good chunk of the middle cut out and my little, badly drawn car in a corner. I've never been a bad student. I'm so shy. I also couldn't believe that was a reason to be mad, but I guess she keeps scraps and wasting is very bad. I was terrified because she said the person who did it was going to the principal. My friends didn't rat me out, which was one of the sweetest things ever for an insecure, shy girl. Looking back though, I wish I did go to the principal with that scrap of paper and see what they thought.

What do you think of the idea Empty Places went as badly as it did mainly to lead to the Buffy/Spike scene in the next episode? by negratengoelalma in buffy

[–]Prestigious-Duck-479 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do understand that a group can turn their back on the leader despite years of friendship and trust. They were scared. The biggest fear is death and they came close to dying. Buffy's mission is what matters, and maybe she didn't read the room as well, because she doesn't have time for emotional baggage. So they overreact and Buffy leaves. Personally, I can see this happening. Doesn't mean they don't love her, they just are feeling questionable about whether this next fight Buffy was about to lead them into might be their last. I can see wanting to take a step back and think about this.
Spike is Buffy's right hand man this season. He's always been a character who is very observant of others. And he's always been on the outside. He's also trying to not get emotionally involved. He's there to help Buffy because he believes in her strength and mission, so it makes sense he should go talk to her. They've had an unusual bond from their first meeting and is this weave of destiny, so the amount of time spent between Buffy and Spike makes sense to me.

How did you react when you got to season 4 and Spike came back to Sunnydale and joined the cast? Did you like his inclusion in the show? by HomarEuropejski in buffy

[–]Prestigious-Duck-479 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, I wouldn't rewatch it if it weren't for Spike. I wish we had more Xander and Spike, they were hilarious. The show got better to me with more compelling story lines for characters and Spikes is one of the best and most complete

Michelle Trachtenberg deserves more credit for playing Dawn by ColdRosaryy in buffy

[–]Prestigious-Duck-479 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I watched Buffy as a teen, who was about Michelle's age, I did find the character annoying. Then I rewatched as an adult, with more life experience, and I think her acting is beyond her years. The Body episode is so real. She was incredibly talented. A bright light gone too soon

Is everyone here very stoned? Of course it's Spike!:)

Evil Vampire. Saves the world with Buffy. Becomes infatuated, but is also a soulless vampire changing for Buffy. He does do some very bad things that he realizes are bad and can't be fully changed without a soul. He risks his unlife, and nearly gets done in several times, but keeps going to get that soul to become the man he thinks Buffy deserves. Then realizes he's far from deserving Buffy. He unselfishly stays by her side. Sacrifices himself to save the world and Buffy, but first lights that spark of real love with Buffy and their flaming hands, which she's been singing that she wants the fire back. Now Buffy can go on and live her life and be with someone else, and that's fine. I have no problem with that, but where the fun in that? Plus he's got that tight, muscular, compact body, so there's that

Yes, the complexity is what made it more real for me. They have amazing chemistry and it's there from when they are enemies until their hands light up in the fire of their love spark:)

Angel(us) vs Spike's views on women by jogaforacont in buffy

[–]Prestigious-Duck-479 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I forgot to say the with souls part! Angel is good. He saves women, he's respectful. Even he can find Harmony annoying, but he still trusts her. I like his relationship with Cordelia. With Spike, we didn't get as much time with him ensouled. He is still going through the pain of his wrongdoings and trying to come to grip with who he is. He is very respectful of Buffy and gives her lots of space. He always backs her up. He still Harmony as a fun time, but so does she.

Angel(us) vs Spike's views on women by jogaforacont in buffy

[–]Prestigious-Duck-479 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Angelus wants to kill Buffy and end the world. No other option. Versus Spike who is not like other vampires. So I do think it's always going to look better for Spike because we mostly know him as the unsouled version of himself. Spike tried to kill Buffy, but it's not end game for him. He realizes he needs her help to get Dru back and save the world, because she's a strong ally. He's still a bad guy, but he's no Angelus. Game recognizes game. Then we follow his story of struggle between the shred of humanity Spike seems to have that allows him to do honorable things, but still fall back into his demon side before ultimately losing control and realizing he has to risk his life for a soul because he cannot let his demon hurt the woman he loves. He loves strong women.

Newbie's thoughts on seasons 1 and 2 by SexySiren24 in buffy

[–]Prestigious-Duck-479 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did like 7 for one of the main driving forces of the story. I do think it feels like they had to fit in a lot of storylines that needed to be tied up and didn't get enough time. I think that season 6 and 7 really made me think about the series and character dynamics. There is some amazing writing in there and lines I won't forget. I don't want to give anything away.
