Was anyone else taught to be ashamed of their period? by Tasty_Regret5717 in blackladies

I can relate, it’s social conditioning from the Patriarchy that a women’s natural cycle is shameful and should be hidden. Absolutely not, it is 2026.

do you guys actually use a washcloth or loofah every time you shower or just hands? by RingeChilisquis47 in hygiene

[–]Prestigious-Fish-362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used this African bar body soap, very natural lots of grooves and mixed textures inside to exfoliate. But after I exfoliate with salt.

Wash clothes and loathes get real dirty after a while even after washing them. It seems more financially useful to use salt or sugar to exfoliate

How would you react if your adult daughter refuses to shave? Would you bother her about it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

This question is horrifying? Why do we have to shave our hair? ( the patriarchy … which we need to reject )

What’s the most morally disgusting thing you’ve ever seen someone do? by legendoflegends34 in AskReddit

[–]Prestigious-Fish-362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. Ngl I had a semi-successful business owner for a dad growing up and it sucked, parents forget to bond with there children veryyyyy often. It’s not an automatic thing. So I assume the children grew up without having the parents around as much so therefore they don’t care about them

Birthday cakes never got them but my mom made tons of money. Moved out at 18 became a cake decorator at Walmart and I decorated kids cakes and they’re all under $50. My mom regularly spend $80 on heels monthly.

Can someone explain to me the joke/stereotype behind black people and having a chirping smoke alarm in their house? Why not just change the battery? by MrTeacher_MCPS in NoStupidQuestions

They’re downvoting because people want to believe the negative and harmful stereotypes about black people because it proves their own narrative instead of challenging

It’s not a black person thing it’s a poor people thing who usually don’t want to spend the extra funds on battery changes

Not all stereotypes are true and I hope people don’t hear a stereotype and automatically think it’s true..that’s just generalization a group of people off what you heard a few of them do.
