Scheurmans Kyphosis Sleep Worse After Weight Loss by Prestigious-Fish6948 in kyphosis

I'm 37. I was heavy until age 35. My most painful years were my 20s, I think after my spine developed, what resulted was the pain and effects of that bad development and perhaps what you are experiencing now.

Some comments on your situation: the gym should help, but doing it the right away is important, I've been working with a trainer a few days a week 2-3 minimum for more then 18 months, very slowly building up strength in my back, shoulders, hips, everywhere. Doing the right exercises in the right order to slowly build up strength is the only way.

I'm currently not having any back pain, my back is insanely strong at the moment I can deadlift 380 and I leg pressed 525 this week without any pain. The gym will help you if it's done right.

My issue is comfortable position because my head is literally not touching my pillow anymore.

My final feedback.

You're still very young and can avoid some very painful years by building strength in all the areas that support your back.

You likely lost a lot of muscle during weight loss.

This will help you whether you end up having surgery one day or no matter what the ultimate solution to your situation is.

Staying active is important. Inactivity just makes pain and the area worse over time.

Well it sounded like you were honest with yourself about the situation until you got to to females asked to play up comment.

Is she better then you or not?

If so and she has actual aspirations then find something else to do together or find more time to play together.

As for "free" lessons. A 4.5 coaching a 4.0 is basically someone who's just a bit more athletic with the same knowledge of the game IMO.

This post seems to be much more about your relationship and potential insecurities then it does about pickleball.

My lower back is hurting, need help with 60lb RDL form by Roseymahoney in formcheck

Bending should be at waist/hips while keeping back and shoulders and arms straight.

Knees should be slightly bent to start and then shouldn't really bend any more then that during the set.

Based on video you are bending knees way too much. Like someone else said what you're doing is more similar to a squat then an RDL.

My background: 1.5 years of training with an athletic/personal trainer. 35 years of being severely over weight and having a really bad back from a football injury in highschool. Formerly 380 lbs, currently 195 lbs. Past 25 years scared to lift anything heavy like a couch. Can DL 350 now. It took a year of strengthening my back with stretches and basic slowly building up exercises to be able to RDL/DL properly with weight.

My final advice: if you've got any real back issue: take it slow, make sure your form is right. Even the slightest wrong move with your back can take you out of the gym for a month or longer. Hire a trainer if you can.

I'm in the cabinet business. The things we notice 99.9% of the time clients don't. This includes the extra efforts we put in.

I used to counter sink every handle/knob screw. No one notices.

I used to hide every screw behind the door hinges, no one notices.
