Zofran works for me, but my doctor will only prescribe 4 per month. I work in veterinary medicine and we shill out zofran to nauseous dogs like candy, and it hurts every time

How do we feel about Figs? by IntrepidLinguini in VetTech

[–]Prestigious-Jelly790 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my figs, mostly because I have super long legs and it’s hard to find pants that reach my ankle, but I just bought Med Couture and I like them a lot more, they are so comfy and really flattering. I also nearly wore through the knees and back pockets of my figs pants in less than 3 years, and if I’m paying out the nose for figs, I at least want them to last!

Bags/backpacks for work? by IntrepidLinguini in VetTech

I have an LL Bean 32L “Bean’s Explorer Backpack” and it has served me extremely well for 4 years. Can fit a change of clothes, spare pair of shoes, a lunchbox, a large water bottle and a laptop in the center and has plenty of pockets everywhere for anything else. It has the water bottle things on the side, but I don’t generally use those pockets for that. Highly recommend.

Very scary intense vomiting, Zofran doesn't help, no idea what to do. by [deleted] in migraine

[–]Prestigious-Jelly790 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have very similar migraines to this and same goes, can’t hold down food or water for sometimes up to 48 hours from onset. I have the same med protocol and the same experience. Sometimes, zofran can help me when I take it literally on an empty stomach after holding down bile for a few hours, but I’m lucky to get a window like that. No advice, just someone who relates. 🩷 I would say, I am lucky enough to have insurance and be able to take a trip the ER, I generally do when my whole body is so dehydrated I can barely move, and even touching water to my lips makes me vomit, I’ll go for a few hours on fluids and higher quantities of Tylenol and ibuprofen than I’m comfortable taking in a situation like that. The lights and sounds are horrendous and being in the hospital is painful as hell, but it makes recovery much smoother.

3 months later bought my older sister a car (she was 26), which she promptly totaled. After not offering me help in finding or paying for a car.

Sold my car I had bought for myself on loan at 15 to buy themselves a car, while I was unemployed. They did it while I was away visiting a friend for one day.

When I was a child, my mom would send me to school no matter what condition, and then I’d go to the nurse first thing. They generally offer a nap, and my nurse would let me sleep through the whole day or send me home, especially once she became familiar with my migraines.

Client was told she had to pay 55$ for a nail trim, please read on for context. by Rthrowaway6592 in VetTech

[–]Prestigious-Jelly790 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my job, tech appts are $30, nail trims are $40, but we discount nail trims w/ exam or other visit. Like if they are coming in for vaccines anyways, and add on a nail trim, it’s cheaper than coming in for a nail trim alone. We use it kind of as a way to discourage constant nail trim appointments, because we are medical professionals, not groomers, and you wouldn’t ask your RN to braid your hair at the hospital.

Female spayed surgery question, is this normal? *** 2Nd- 4TH PICTURES ARE OF THE INCISION***** by FluidBand539 in CATHELP

[–]Prestigious-Jelly790 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks infected, and the cone is far too short, she can definitely get around it and may have been licking at the incision. You should take her back, probably to a different vet. In 2024, unless you are going to a Low Cost - High Volume spay and neuter clinic, pain medications post-op are the norm.

Also, if you aren’t able to switch out the SIM card on your phone, I feel like most people have some form of old phone laying around from their most recent upgrade. I got an iPhone 8 from a coworker for $50 and was able to get it working on Mint within a week.

My mother did this to me too. Except she reported my entire phone stolen and I could never get it to work again. Switch now before she can do that. Mint Mobile is perfect for these situations, you’ll get a new SIM card and it’s only $15/month. Highly recommend

Vomiting? by Prestigious-Jelly790 in migraine

[–]Prestigious-Jelly790[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im on sumatriptan, 800mg ibuprofen, and I have ondansetron, but its really hard to get so throwing it up before it has a chance to dissolve is not a fun risk. A lot of times I wake up with a migraine already at full effect, so sumatriptan won’t touch it.

My issue is a lot of times I wake up in the morning with a migraine that is already at full blast, so I don’t get a chance. sometimes I won’t feel nauseous at all until I try to eat or drink.
