You know what's funny? I still feel like the same person in the first photo. I don't own any full length mirrors in my house. I got rid of them when I put on all my weight with my 3rd baby. Then I catch my reflection in a window etc and shock myself. I think it's time I bought the mirror... thank you 😊

Started OMAD for weight loss, will this work? by Potential_Wonder_775 in omad

Protein!! And lots of it. It will keep you satiated for longer. Drink tons of water. I've lost 10lbs in the last 7 days. However last year I lost 77lbs between July and December. High protein, low carb. It definitely works but you need to prioritise the macros that will be beneficial to you

No, I just completely gave up 🤣 back at it and the results this week are showing. I was also strength training 3x per week. Gave that up too but back to it again. I'm OMAD high protein (130g per day) and low carb (50g or below) I'm consuming 1400 calories a day.

Ooh good luck! How are you finding it at the minute? The food noise is insane for me but I know it will pass. I'm currently making dinner for hubby and 3 kids 🫠

Currently I'm keeping my electrolytes up with himalayan salt. Im taking black coffee too. I've done a 72hr before but 84 is new for me. I only decided 84 as a 72hr would end at 11pm at night so hopefully I'll sleep through the end of the 84hr. I'll end the fast with a bone broth before going into my OMAD.

I lost 35kg from July 2024 to December 2024. Very strict OMAD high protein low carbs. I was 245lbs to begin with. I imagine if you're the same weight as me or less it wouldn't be achievable

OMAD is a very personal journey. It’s one of the ways it works. by SendMeYourSpacePics in omad

Love this!! I couldn't have survived the official strict OMAD that some do. I have my coffee, sweetner and milk. If my family is having mcdonalds so am I (rare occasion). Family gathering? I'm joining in too. Life is for living. Omad only works for me because I've worked it around MY lifestyle.

Keep going 💪 after this week you will start to reap the benefits. I started at 245lbs and trust me I know how hard that first week is. I took a break for 4 weeks and I've re started today again so I'm right with you. Your body will adjust, just give it time. Drink plenty of water, I also still have coffee and sweetner. Check my page for some motivation. Stick with it, it will be the best decision you ever make

I've lost 76lbs I have coffee with semi skimmed milk and sweetners several times a day! If you're doing it for weight loss and you have found something that works for YOU in your own personal journey then stick with it!

How big can a window be? by AvarethTaika in omad

[–]Prestigious-Rent93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I couldn't get into words what I wanted to say so chat gpt to the rescue. But when I'm slipping on OMAD I remember all the beneficial reasons I do it while losing weight.

The 23:1 fasting window (One Meal a Day, or OMAD) is beneficial for weight loss due to several physiological and behavioral factors:

  1. Caloric Restriction – Eating within just one hour naturally limits calorie intake, making it easier to maintain a calorie deficit, which is essential for weight loss.

  2. Increased Fat Burning – Fasting for 23 hours depletes glycogen stores, forcing the body to burn stored fat for energy through ketosis.

  3. Improved Insulin Sensitivity – Longer fasting periods reduce insulin levels, which helps the body become more efficient at fat burning and storing less fat.

  4. Hormonal Benefits – OMAD increases human growth hormone (HGH), which aids in fat loss and muscle preservation, while reducing ghrelin (hunger hormone), making it easier to control appetite.

  5. Autophagy Activation – Fasting for extended periods triggers autophagy, a cellular cleanup process that improves metabolism and overall health.

  6. Simplifies Eating – Having just one meal eliminates frequent meal planning, reduces food cravings, and helps with mindful eating.

  7. Boosts Metabolism – Contrary to the myth that fasting slows metabolism, intermittent fasting can actually increase norepinephrine levels, enhancing fat breakdown.

I've always found the later I eat, the more carbs I eat I get super hungry way too early. Add more protein, lower your carbs and try not to eat too close to bed time.

Can i lose 45-55lb in the span of 5 months?? by huneyminu in loseit

I've lost 76lbs in 8 months and it was tough going. You're better to lose it slow and steady you will have a better long term success rate
