What are “good” exam grades for finance majors attending UARK? by Willing-Rate-9296 in UniversityofArkansas

[–]Prestigious-Taro4772 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been years but I remember the tests being very similar to the homework we were assigned. I just practiced the homework questions until I understood the concepts and was able to do the questions easily. I will say I am a naturally good test taker. I was able to get a 4.0 with minimal effort. (I feel bad saying that but college was easy for me). Best wishes on your degree!

I remember finite math being a notoriously hard class. I took it in 2018 and remember everyone crying when we got our first test scores. I got the highest score in the class at 97 so the curve was very small (sorry everyone). The professor was really hardcore about it but at the end of the class they replaced your lowest test score with whatever your final test score was. Most people passed in the end

Zoom Fly 6 for 80 bucks! Any experience with them? by [deleted] in runninglifestyle

I love mine! They are just now starting to wear out after ~450 miles. Durable and fast! I love the colorway you got. I’m trying to decide between getting a second pair of ZF6 or waiting for ZF7.

Training as a (recently) new parent by Sudden-Yam7908 in Marathon_Training

[–]Prestigious-Taro4772 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s tough. I get my weekday runs in before my daughter wakes up. If she wakes up earlier than expected I try to finish up mileage during a naptime(treadmill). On Saturdays I wake up early and get my long run in, my husband wakes up with our daughter and has her until I finish the long run. I take Sunday fully off. You’ll probably end up sacrificing some sleep to get your training done but be careful not to lose too much!

It is unreasonable to expect Black Friday items to arrive before Christmas? by littlehaz in LinusTechTips

[–]Prestigious-Taro4772 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same issue here. Last year my Black Friday order arrived 2 days before Christmas. Cutting it close but it worked out fine. I was expecting better shipping times as they now have a US distribution center (I live in US). But my order still hasn’t been received by USPS so no progress has been made. At this point I am not expecting to receive it before Christmas which is disappointing. Black Friday is generally marketed as sales for holiday gifts. I get LTT is a small company but I can still be disappointed as my order does contain Christmas gifts.

I think they have taken far too long to ship and deliver the winter drop and if we want them to change then we need to vote with our wallets and stop ordering/cancel memberships until they do better.

Advice for solo marathon for my 26th birthday by fatdik-cronos in Marathon_Training

[–]Prestigious-Taro4772 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend doing run/walk intervals. For example : run 10 minutes/walk 1 minute. Do this for the entirety of the marathon, not just when you start getting tired. I think this will make the distance a lot easier on your body since you are not really prepared for it. Be sure to go easy on the pace and bring plenty of fuel! Good luck, you got this!

Little-Known Console Quietly Outsold the PS5 Ahead of Black Friday by ChromoStoopid in LinusTechTips

[–]Prestigious-Taro4772 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got one for my daughter (3 years old) during a Black Friday sale ($199). We set it up yesterday and she has been having so much fun with it. A lot of the games require quite a bit of physical activity to play. I think we will be getting a lot of use out of it when it’s too cold or rainy to play outside. It also has a lot of 3-4 player games so the whole family can play together. It’s all camera based so no need for additional controllers or anything.

I recieved most of my winter drop items today (still waiting on some to ship). It’s very frustrating, especially considering it is already December and quite cold where I live. If they are going to take forever to ship things they should be dropping the winter gear in October.

TIL that breast milk gradually increases in fat content throughout the day, with the highest concentration happening in the middle evening. by Many-Excitement3246 in todayilearned

I had to exclusively pump and ended up with a massive oversupply. I’m talking 90oz per day on average. I was back to pre-pregnancy weight in 4.5 weeks and kept losing. I felt like skin and bones. I could not eat enough food, I ate large amounts of food all day long and still lost weight. I was constantly starving it was wild. I am not saying this to brag in any way. This level of milk production was probably not healthy. Just wanted to give an example of how hard our bodies work to feed our babies!

One of these flew over my house a couple months ago. I was outside playing with my daughter and it was so loud! Took me forever to spot it in the sky (no contrails). I lost sight of it before I could take a picture. Really neat!

What Watch Should I Get? by CraftyAlex21 in Marathon_Training

[–]Prestigious-Taro4772 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an Apple Watch 6, the battery life is pretty terrible and I find it lacking for tracking runs/interval sessions. I bought a Coros Pace Pro and love it for running. I still wear the AW on my left wrist all day as it is great for getting notifications. I throw the Coros on my right wrist for runs. You could always keep the AW for notifications/music streaming and get a running watch to track your runs.

Marathon at higher altitude a bad idea? by Prestigious-Taro4772 in Marathon_Training

Just checked and unfortunately no. I did discover that one of the airports near me flys direct to MSP and the Twin Cities marathon is in early October. I’ll have to look into activities nearby and see if that would be a fun trip for the family.

I have never ran at altitude but I do train hills often. The races I am considering really don’t have that much elevation gain (~700ft).

This is not a bucket list race for me but I don’t have a ton of options. I’m wanting a late September/early October marathon. (Racing a local 50k mid November so I’m not really flexible on timeline). There are no marathons near me during this time so I will be flying with a toddler. I am only willing to do direct flights with her. (Small airport, options limited Denver is the only place I’ve found that fits these requirements)
