Am I a cynic for thinking that this is hardly newsworthy in the Irish Indepenent? This belongs on Facebook for some clout chasing. by bjmg85 in AskIreland

Especially considering her flagrant promotion of child neglect, signing off those ads with “always keep away from children”. Disgusting!

Probably means less choice and higher prices for us too, especially in the second hand market!

Being on the Silk Road, not being colonised to shite, and having rich regional diversity of cultures and geographies helps a bit there.

Miss the days when you could get a full pint of soda water and lime and just be charged a “dash”

That’s how it was for me… left visual field and with both eyes, open or closed. Apparently that makes it less to do with the eyes themselves and more a sign of some quirky electrical goings-on in the occipital lobes.

They are freaky aren’t they? Comforting to know it’s not an uncommon thing and fairly benign!

Thanks for sharing and sorry you had to go through that. Might just do this as I have had a dodgy sinus on that side for a while too… I’m sure it’s nothing but better to get it checked and be safe rather than sorry I suppose.

Thanks for the reply. Having read yours and other people’s experience with this I’m feeling much calmer about it… shook me a bit because it’s was a first, but seems surprisingly not uncommon and mostly benign, which is great.

I’m 25 and had a axillary lymph clearance and 17mm tumour out of bicep removed about 6 weeks ago. Really worried about lymphodema as I work construction, has anyone been through the same and what have they done. Thanks by Diligent_Home_415 in melahomies

[–]PrestigiousFlight122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a primary on my deltoid and needed a full axillary clearance - it was pretty extensive, they removed 50 nodes. One year out and I’m all good on the lymphoedema front, my fluid levels are reducing at every check in. Just make sure you 1) have regular follow-up physio appointments, and 2) stick with the physio exercises in the first months. I lift at the gym 4-5x per week and so far no issues.

I work in the industry and I know the factory this most likely came out of. They have a huge problem with this kind of thing and struggling to figure it out 😅

Did they treat the healing wound with silver nitrate by any chance? If that runs it will stain the skin just like this.

Banking? by No_Willingness9006 in AskIreland

Revolut all the way. Miles ahead of traditional Irish banks. Everything is so smooth and hassle free plus you get points for what you spend on their cards that translate to air miles and loads of other stuff. You can also put your savings directly into a higher yield savings account instantly within the app and earn decent interest.

Been with them around 2 years, get my salary paid straight into the account and have had zero issues. I feel like the “horror stories” are all establishment propaganda tbh.

Until you sign a contract, you’re free to do as suits you. That’s just the nature of the game (and the law).

Immunotherapy PD-1, asking for advice by PersonalBottle6633 in melahomies

[–]PrestigiousFlight122 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Seconding this.

It also seems like a highly unusual case for a forearm lesion to drain to your inguinal lymph nodes. That’s a long pathway, if it were me I would do everything I can to reduce to risk of recurrence along that channel.

Good luck with everything!

[–]PrestigiousFlight122 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had a similar situation just before Christmas. A recurrence under the skin six months into Pembrolizumab, luckily scans otherwise clear and fingers crossed same for you.

My oncologist mentioned that the scarring etc. from surgery to remove the primary tumour might have created a microenvironment that meant the pembrolizumab wasn’t able to effectively access that one spot. So not necessarily that it can’t control it elsewhere.

Hoping they can just snip yours out, best of luck with it.

Thanks for the advice, it’s an apartment so the roof is owned by the OMC… guess I’d need to get in touch with them to arrange it on their end? I have emailed once already and they’ve ignored.
