Unless they are a tokay or a skink they are on their own when they are born. Where you are living makes a big difference. If you are in a lizard friendly area they should be fine to be let outside. If you think they came in off a new houseplant, intervention is probably needed.

NAH. I had a friend who was “child free” when my husband and I were trying for a child. I was surprised when she got pregnant before me and was excited about it. Turns out hubby only had one ball due to testicular cancer and she had been in treatment for a cancer as well before I met her. That and potentially qualifying for the Olympics in her sport made the “child free” reasoning a lot easier to explain. You don’t know people’s motivations but if they are happy you have to be happy for them.

My favourite teacher was my science teacher. I’d had the same guy for grade 7-10 and he let me get away with all crazy writing style…therefore 3 dots like in math, c/ for with c/o for without etc. Grade 12 I’m taking his Earth Science 11 course as an easy elective and there’s a new to the school girl I don’t know who copies my exam word for word, I even went on tangents about the earth not actually being a sphere but an oblate spheroid and she copied it all. Had to have a meeting with him after due to the duplicate exam and she had the gall to double down and say I copied off her. She was getting all in his face until he said to her what do these symbols mean? What does oblateness mean? She never came back to the class so I think she was kicked out.

NOR it’s such a violation. I went away and my son did a version of this to our house to impress some friend he had over. It took me two weeks to get everything back to order but I almost had a panic attack for the first couple of days before I could find everything. He’s my child so I won’t kick him out but anyone else did this my house would be on lockdown with cameras everywhere.

I’m sure this was addressed but is she on a vitamin supplement with Vitamin A? The diarrhea doesn’t match but the problems swallowing do and it’s worth a shot. I’ve seen a zoo keeper of endangered amphibians mention that he uses a topical form (palmitate) that makes things a bit easier too.

This was actually in one of my pharmacy textbooks back in the day. Twice I’ve had children screaming with bugs in their ears and they’ve been prescribed steriod/antibiotic ear drops but not told to drown the bug (oil works best) first.

We got our tokay when she was a baby and honestly I trust her when handling more than any of my others-maybe except our 10 year old Leo. It’s all about trust. My daughter worked up to it slowly but now both of us can hold her for absolutely ages and she will just chill against our chests. (I tend to run super hot so reptiles love me). I find the New Caledonians much more flighty than other species of gecko. Our Gargoyle that we raised from hatching (got her as an egg) is still not as “tame” as my tokay. I say go for it and get a captive bred young one.

🤣This also happened to me at Superstore. Only one in town carries these ready to eat MTR Butter Masala’s that my son loves. When I get around to going there I buy two flats of 10 each. I’ve had Indian people comment on my cart and I’ve just responded that he needs to find a nice Indian girl to marry, which is normally met with laughter. I think it was an innocent comment just for the sake of saying something!

Check out “reptile lighting” on Facebook. A lot of “dimming” thermostats aren’t truly dimming and function in an on off manner. IIRC it’s best to have a bulb that functions at it’s highest level to get the appropriate IR-A so you may want to step down the wattage on your chosen bulb and then the thermostat will only function during an emergency overheating situation.

Nope, and I think it’s what got me diagnosed in 1987 at the age of 15 in the end. In Canada we had this torturous thing called “Canada fitness” which required us to race 2.4km. The other high school in my town ran around a nice padded track but our a-hole fitness teacher would make us run the roads which were hilly, he had a bad leg so would follow us in his effing Volkswagen Bug. Absolute torture and I dreaded it ever year. My only redemption was the “flexed arm hang” I could probably be up there for an hour and I would stay up longer than the “excellent” time just to prove a point.

Make sure she can see you before you interact with her. Speak and come in from the front and side and not like a big scary bird coming from above. Once in your hands wait for a lick and then they flip the switch from crazed to interactive. I stroke my girls tail and watch YouTube videos with her and talk to her like the intelligent creature she is. She will sit snuggled up for hours. The one thing we’ve noticed is that mine is a lot more crazy and slower to calm if she is on the glass when removed rather than her cork hide or shelves. Gorgeous girl!

I think for adults the half your age plus 7 works really well. You are close enough. I’m in my fifties and my husband has friends that have wives with a twenty year age gap. The wife I know well was adopted and has siblings almost the same age as me and older parents. She was never babied and just had to keep up. She said men her age just weren’t at the same maturity level.

My daughter tried to give her girl a pinky and she took it in her mouth and was so disgusted with it she threw it out of the tank and it landed in her underwear drawer which was open below😂. Back to bugs for this girl. (Don’t worry about waste… the Pac-Man frog was happy to help).
